At a Regular Meetine of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber r
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 12, 1963, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners

Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for February 26 and
March 1, 1963 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetin-prepared by the City Clerk

be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley,
Cholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).

Steam Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby,
Locomotive authorized to transfer from the Contingent Fund of the City the sum of $1,000.00 to
Citizens Bank & Trust Company of Paducah, Kentucky, as Trustee, to be placed in the
trust fund to provide for the protection and preservation of a steam locomotive donated
by Illinois Central Railroad Company under the terms of a resolution adopted by the
Board of Commissioners on December 27, 1962. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,

December 31, 1962, which were prepared by Idilliams, Williams & Lentz, be received and
filed.
I further rove that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to publish in the Sun -Democrat the condensed form of said Audit- Report of the
City of Paducah. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson,
Hornsb-7, Yarnes and Mayor Cherry (5).

Commissioner Hornsby offered the following motion: It appearing, that Tilghman
Tade, Chief of Detectives in the Police Department of the City of Paducah, who is
scheduled for retirement from said department on March 31, 1963, under the terms and
provisions of an -ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of said city on March
ii 13, 1962, has requested, by letter, that his employment as such be continued, and that
such continuation has been recommended by letter of Paul Holland, Chief of the Police
Department, I move that this Board declare that a continuation of such employment will

be for the best interest of the City, and that such employment be continued until mid-
night on the 30th day of September, 1963, unless terminated prior to such time by
operation of law.
I further move that said letters be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered the following motion: It'appearing that Charles
Champion, a Captain in the Detective Division of the City of Paducah, who is scheduled
for retirement from said division on March 31, 1963, under the terms and provisions of
an ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of said city on March 13, 1962, has
requested, by letter, that his employment as such be continued, and that such continuati
has been recommended by letter of Paul Holland, Chief of the Police Department, I move
that this Board declare that a continuation of such employment will be for the best

a distance of 2,649 feet, and seven fire hydrants to be installed thereon."
I further move that the adoption of this resolution be considered as an agreement on the
part. of the City of Paducah to pay the fire hydrant and main rental, as provided in the
franchise, on the pipe lines and hydrants referred to above, said rentals to begin when
water main and hydrants have been installed and placed in use. Adopted on call of the

extended an Assistant Chief in the Fire Department of the City of Paducah, who is scheduled for
retirement from said department on March 31, 1963, under the terms and provisions of an
ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of said city on I -larch 13, 1962, has
requested, by letter, that his employment as such be continued, and that such continuation
has been recommended by letter of Ed Turner, Chief of the Fire Department, I move that i
this Board declare that a continuation of such employment will be for the best interest
of the City, and that such employment be continued until mid -night on the 30th day of
September, 1963, unless terminated prior to such time by operation of law.
I further move that said letters be received and filed. Adopted on call of the
