on promotions
At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of he City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at ^:30 P.M. on February 25, 1964, Mayor 'Wilson
presided and upon call of the Roll the followinr answered to their names: Commissioner;
Davis, Fendley, Hornsbv, Kressenherg and Mayor Wilson (5).
Payor Wilson o£fVed motion that the readinr of the Minutes for February 11, 1964
be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved
as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hornsby,
Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Davis offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fendley, that the
letter of Paul Holland, Chief of Police, pertaining to the promotion of Robert
and James Smith, he received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commission-
ers Davis, Fendlev, Hornsby, Kressenberg_ and Mavor Wilson (5).

Paducah, who is scheduled for retirement from said department on February 28, 1964,
under the terms and provisions of an ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners
of said City on March 13, 1962, has requested by letter that his employment as such be
continued, and that such continuation has been recommended by letter of Ed Turner,
I move that this Board declare that c continuation of such employment will be for the
best interest of the Citty and that such employment be continued until mid -night on
the 28th day of February, 1965, unless terminated prior to such time by operation of 1
I further move that said letters be received and filed. Adopted on call of the

Commissioner Davis offered motion that was seconded by Commission Fendley that
this Board receive and file copy of a motion adopted on February 5, 1964, recormendinp
the closing of certain streets and alleys in the area to be developed by Beltline Plaza
Shopping Center, Inc. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendle
Hornshy, Kressenberr and Mavor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Davis offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fendley that the re
of the Paducah Water Works be received and filed, and that the following checks be
turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the proper accounts:

I further move that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to publish in the Sun -Democrat the condensed form of said Audit Report of the
City of Paducah. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,
Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg that
Robert Shelbourne be promoted to the rank of Captain in the Police Department of the Cit
at a salary of $3$0.00 per month, effective March 1, 1964. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hornsby, Kressenberg_ and Mayor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg as
follows: Upon recommendation of Ray Joseph, Assistant Director of Public Works, I move
that the services of Taylor Lambert, a'laborer in the Refuse Division of the City of
Paducah, be terminated as of February 15, 1964. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hornsby, Kressenberr and Mayor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, Seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg that
Robert Dotson Timmons be employed as Mechanic's Helper in the Street Division of the
Public Works Department,at a salary of $1.65 per hour, effective March 1, 1964. Such
employment not being under civil service. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Co=issioners Davis, Fendley, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (5).

the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to George Turner of
the southwest corner of Lot No. 392 in Block No, 6 of the Rushine Addition to Oak Grove
Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said
cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,

Commissioner Davis offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
SELECTING AND DESIGNATING MORRIS A. LEE, A CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, TO AUDIT THE RECORDS OF THE ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, FROM JULY 1, 1963 TO JUNE 30, 1964", be adopted. The motion was seconded
by Commissioner Fendley and adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Hornsbv, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (5).
