At a Regular -eetinr of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on February 13, 1962, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll, the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3) Commissioners Fields and Cholson being absent (2).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the P':inutes for January 23, 1962
be waived and that the Minutes of Said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved
as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Karnes and
Payor Cherry (3).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the petition of Loren M. Jones, for
permission to make one 3A inch connection to the 2 inch privately owned crater pipe line
owned by Loren M. Jones, so as to furnish water to one residence only to be constructed
upon lots 8 and 9 in block 7 in Thurman Minerva Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentuc
and fronting 114.84 feet on the west side of Cardinal Lane in McCracken County, Kentucky
and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed
and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and con-
ditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby,
Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3).
Commissioner Karnes offered the following motion: Morris McBride is the owner of
property located on Monroe Street between 31st Street and 30th Street, and said owner
desires that an extension of the existing water main be made so as to provide water
service to the property above referred to.
It appears from the endorsement by the Board of Commissioners of Water Works that
the applicant has complied with all rules and regulations of said Paducah Water works as
approved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah. I therefore move that th
application of Morris. McBride Bride be accepted and approved and that the Board of Commissione
of the Paducah hater Works be authorized to execute the agreement for the laying of said,
extension and that the Board of Commissioners of Paducah slater Works be authorized to
install a six inch main along Monroe Street, beginning at the existing main on 31st Stre
and extend in an Easterly direction to the West side of 30th Street, a distance of
approximately 511 feet.
I further move that the adoption of this resolution and the granting of the reques
contained in said application be considered as an agreement on the part of the City of
Paducah to pay the fire hydrant and water main rental, as provided in the franchise, on
the pipe line referred to in the petition and in this motion. Said rental to begin
when said water main has been installed and water provided for on the street above
referred to. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Karnes and

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the
sale by the City of Paducah to i.ss. Ora Peoples of the south :vest corner of Lot Pio. 23,
in Blocj No. 8 of the hushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk
be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3).

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the

authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to have a street light installed at the intersection of Sowell and Ashbrook.

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that Henry Brokaw be temporarily employed as
a laborer in the Floodwall Department of the City at a salary of $1.391 per hour,
retroactive to January 25, 1962. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor sherry (3).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that Louie Brown be temporarily employed as a
laborer in the Floodwall Department of the City at a salary of $1.391 per hour,
retroactive to January 29, 1962. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3).

the Street Division of the City of Paducah, be terminated as of 4 PM. February 2, 1962.

Commissioner Karnes offered motion that Leon Crafton be temporarily employed as a
laborer in the Floodwall Department of the city at a salary of $1.391 per hour, retro-

Commissioner Karnes offered motion that the reports of the Paducah ':later dorks
be received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City Treasul
to be deposited in the proper accounts:

Mayor Cherry offered motion that the letter of Rex P. Cornelison dated January
1, 1962, to the Mayor and Commissioners, stating that as of mid -night December 31, 1961
he had served twenty (20) years as Judge of the Paducah Police Court, and applying for a
pension as provided for by ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December
12, 1961, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners

Mayor Cherry offered motion that the City Manager be, and he is hereby,

PRE -CAST BRIDGE, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON :9HICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL
