At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on January 23, 1962, Mayor Pro Tem
Gholson presided in the absence of Mayor Cherry and upon call of the Roll the following
answered to their names: Commissioners Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem
Gholson (4), Mayor Cherry being absent (1).

Mayor Pro Tem Gholson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for January 9
January 16 and January 20, 1962 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared
by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioi
ers Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4).
/ Commissioner Fields offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract between
the City of Paducah and :lest Kentucky Motor Company, Inc., for the sale to the City of
one new 1962 G M C Panel truck, for use in the Police Department, be received and filed.

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the copy of the letter of the City Clerk
addressed to the Board of Commissioners dated January 1$, 1962, together with the copy of
the letter written by her on the same date to Dr. Ralph Osborne, Superintendent of the
Board of Education of the City of Paducah, and a copy of her certification as to the total
value of all property in the City of Paducah subject to taxation in the year 1962, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas Commissioners Fields, Hornsby
Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract between
the City of Paducah and King -Woodall Motors, Inc., for the sale to the City of one new
1962 Model C-750 Ford truck with 16 cubic yard Garwood packer body for use in the Refuse
Division, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4).
Commissioner Hornsby offered the following motion: In connection with the Board
of Education tax rate for 1962, I move that the following be received and filed:
1. Copy of Minutes of the Board of Education Meeting of January 20, 1962 relative
to the Special School Tax Rate of 50g.
2. Copy of Resolution of the Board of Education of January 20, 1962 relative to
the Regular School Tax Rate and Poll Tax.
3. Copy of the General Budgei- for 1962 of the Paducah Independent School District
