At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 28, 1961, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for November 14,
1961 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be
approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,
Gholson, Hook and Mayor "herry (5).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that the follovring bids for the sale to
City of one (1) 1000 G.P.M. Triple Combination Pumper Fire Truck, be received and

Liability Ins: Commissioner Davis offered motion that the liability insurance policy issued

Const. Co, by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company to the City of Paducah covering work done

by Four Rivers Construction Company, Inc, for a period of one year from November 8,
1961, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissionex

Employ Marth I, Commissioner Fendley offered motion that Martha Lou Sargent be employed as

Finance Dept temporary license clerk in the City Treasurer's Office, effective December 1, 1961, at
a salary of ;)190.00 per month; such employment being only temporary and not covered by
any Civil Service rights or privileges. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,

Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the letter of Downtown Paducah

Liwanis Club dated November 15, 1961 to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, requestin
the city to release a certain restriction and reversionary clause in connection with th
deed from the City conveying to Kiwanis Club of Paducah, Kentucky, certain property
located at 1733 Broadway in said City, for the purpose of using said property as
collateral for a loan needed to build a Drag Strip for the use of the young people
of Paducah and McCracken County, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve

the sale by the City of Paducah to Mrs. Willie Mae Muse of the north east corner of
Lot No. 22 in Block No. 8 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the
City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave.

Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the following bids for furnishing
the City its petroleum requirements for the period from January 1, 1962 to June 30, 1'

Liability Ins. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by
Cooper Plb & Heat
Co. The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company to the City of Paducah covering work done by Elvin
L. Cooper d/b/a Cooper Plumbing and Heating Company for a period of one year from August
1, 1961, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Flynn Scott Cupp Commissioner Gholson offered motion that ldynn Scott Cupp be employed as a part

filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook
and Mayor Cherry (5).
Settle ClaimCommissioner Hook offered motion that the claim of 'Barbara Montgomery, Route $,
Barbara Montgomery
Paducah, Kentucky, in the sum of $19.12, for personal injuries caused on or about October
17, 1 961, by sidewalk construction on Broadway between 4th and 5th Streets, be allowed;
and the Treasurer pay said claim after securing a full and complete release. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).

Commissioner Davis offered motion that the letter from John E. Bryan, D. C.
Chairman of the Paducah Park Board, stating that at a meeting of said Board on November
6, 1961 the board passed a motion unanimously to lease to the Paducah Junior Chamber of
Commerce for 31.00 a year a plot 200 feet by 200 feet running along Park Avenue and
adjacent to the now existing property owned by the Junior Chamber of Commerce located
in the north west corner of Park Avenue and 'hompson Avenue, be received and filed.
