At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on January 20, 1959, Mayor Jacobs
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
gommissioner Fendley offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of
Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 P.Di, on January 20, 1959, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and
Mayor Jacobs (5).
/ Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive,
y approve and file Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company
of New York to Grover C. Watkins Company for a period of one year from January 1, 1959.

Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the letter from Ed Turner, Fire Chief,
dated January 11, 1959 and also the report of the Fire Department for the year 1958,
be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
'Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the following bids for furnishing
grit removal equipment and supervision of erection be received and filed:

';talker Process Equipment, Inc.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and
Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Hook offered the following motion: WHEREAS, James Hensley, 1115
Cleveland Street, Paducah, Kentucky, has made application for permit as private
collector for collecting, transporting and disposing of refuse as provided in Article VI,
Section 4-A of the Refuse Collection and Disposal Ordinance, such collection to be made
from City Produce Company, Rudolph's Rest Home, Lowe's Fish Market, Harton's Fruit Stand
and Turner's Restaurant.
I, therefore, move that such permit be granted to him for a period of six months
from January 14, 1959 upon payment of the sum of :;12.00 for said six-month period at the
rate of ?2.00 per month. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR AND AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF BURNS & MCDONITELL ENGINEERING COMPANY OF
KAIISAS CITY, MISSOURI IN ESTABLISHING A GENERAL VALUATION OF ALL ELECTRIC PROPERTIES
WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY NOW OWNED BY KENTUCKY UTILITIES
COMPANY, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR
SAME WITH SAID COr•PANY AND SETTING FORTH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SUCH CONTRACT",
be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley,
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).

12 months AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: TAN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE OWNERS
OF IMPROVED REAL ESTATE IN SANITARY ZONES 1 AND 3, IPJ THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
AND IN ALL OTHER SANITARY SEWER ZONES IN SAID CITY, SHALL, WITHIN TIdENTY-FOUR MONTHS
FROM THE TIME OF COMPLETION OF THE SYSTEM OF SANITARY SEWERS OR COMBINED STOR1•7 AND
SANITARY SEWERS IN ANY OF SAID ZONES, CONNECT SAID IMPROVEMENTS WITH THE SANITARY
SEWER IN SAID ZONE; AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR ANY VIOLATION HEREOF*, 'WHICH WAS
ADOPTED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH ON FEBRUARY 23, 192711, be
adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley,
