At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on June 20, 1961, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of
Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 P.M. on June 20, 1961, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and
Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve
the sale by the City of Paducah to Christine Bradshaw of the north east and north west
corners of Lot No. 21 in Block No. B of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery,
and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery

Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: I move that Clemmme (Tim
Gamble be employed as a temporary laborer in the Street Division of the Public Works
Department, retroactive to June 16, 1961, at a salary of $1.321 per hour.
Such employment is temporary and no civil service rights or other rights
under any law or ordinance shall be covered by this employment. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Sherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: Upon recommendation
of Art Seelye, Recreation Director, I move that James Chester Humphrey be temporarily
employed in the Recreation Department of the City of Paducah, retroactive to June 16,
1961, at a salary of $220.00 per month. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issue
by The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company to H. Wallace Tanner & Son and the City of
Paducah for a perion of one year from July 13, 1961, be received, approved and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and
Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of
Hubert Grimmer, Superintendent of Parks, I move that Mike Stewart be temporarily
employed as extra basket room attendant, in the Park Department of the City, at a
salary of 00.75 per hour, retroactive to June 15, 1961. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued
the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to W. H. Yancy and the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, for a period of one Year from July 22, 1961, be received, approved and filed

Commissioner Hook offered motion that Lewis Parker be employed as a regula
basket room attendant at Noble Park Pool, effective June 10, 1961, at a salary of $14C
per month; such employment not being under civil service and being only temporary and
may be terminated at any time. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davi
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).

i Mayor Cherry offered motion that the claim of Harold Lowe (1722 Madison Street)

in the sum of $22.50 for damages to a bicycle owned by him, by a City grader, on May 1$
1961, near 21st and Park Avenue be allowed; and that the City -Treasurer be, and he is
hereby, directed to pay said claim after securing a full and complete release. Adopted

Executive Director, City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission, stating their estimat
of the annual amount of Payment in Lieu of Taxes on new housing projects being develope
in the City of Paducah, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,

Mayor Cherry offered the following motion: I move that the City Manager be, and
he is hereby, requested to secure proposals for services as fiscal agents of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, for the issuance and sale of revenue bonds to finance sanitary sewer
construction and Steps I and II of the storm„water relief improvements as recommended
by the Master Plan Report submitted on January 27, 1961, by Burns and McDonnell
Engineering Company
I further move that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to secure
engineering proposals in connection with the institution of said sewer construction.

Commissioner Hook offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF
ONE (1) NEW ELECTRIC HOSE DRYER TO BE USED AT THE NEW NUMBER TWO FIRE STATION IN THE CIi
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE
MADE”, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,

Commissioner Davis offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH AETNA OIL COMPANY FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ALL REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
FOR THE PERIOD OR TIME FROM JULY 1, 1961 TO DECEMBER 31, 1961, AND PRESCRIBING THE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be introduced and
remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form
in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor sherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
ACCEPTING THE BID OF ROWTON TV AND SOUND CORPORATION FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF

PADUCAH, KENTYCKY OF ONE (1) AEROTHROM MODEL 6N100 BASE STATION FOR USE IN THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL
BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).

ACCEPTING THE BID OF R011TON TV AND SOUND CORPORATION FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF 13
MOBILE TRANSCEIVERS FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted.

FOR THE PURCHASE OF ALL MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL,
HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
FOR THE PERIOD OF TI14E FROM JULY 1, 1961 TO DECEMBER 31, 1961, AND PRESCRIBING THE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be introduced and
remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form
