At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on June 13, 1961, Payor Cherr
presided and upon call of the Roll the .following answered to their names: Commissioner
Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Fendley being absent.
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for I•lay 9, I•lay
16 and June 8, 1961 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the
City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Davis, Gholson; Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Nayor Cherry offered motion that the petition of William 0. Walker and his
wife, Virginia Louise Walker, for permission and authority to make one 3/4 inch
connection to the existing 8 inch water main along Friedman Lane owned by Paducah ;date
Works so as to furnish water to one residence to be constructed upon a lot, fronting
100 feet on the west side of Friedman Lane in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside
the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that
request in said petition be granted in accordance with the terms and conditions in sai
petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook
and b4ayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Davis offered the follo* ng motion: Upon recommendation of
Art Seelye, Recreation Director, I move that Beverly S. McManus be temporarily employe
in the Recreation Department of the City of Paducah, effective June 16, 1961, at a
salary of 6175.00 per month. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,i
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry. (4).
Commissioner Davis offered the folloting motion: Upon recommendation of
Art Seelye, Recreation Director, I move that Glenn E. Dexter be temporarily employed
in the Recreation Department -of the City of Paducah, effective June 16, 1961, at a
salary of :a220.Wper month. Adopted on call of..the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
/ Commissioner Gholson offered motion that Barbara McKinney be temporarily
y employed as relief attendant at Noble Park Pool, st a salary of ;0.75 per hour,
retroactive to June 10, 1961. -Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissionen Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive
approve and file certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company
of New York to W. E. Anderson d/b/a VI. E. Anderson Construction Company and the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from June 1, 1961; also Bond of the
said W. E. Anderson Construction Company in the amount of .,4,000.00 dated June 1, 1961
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook, and Mayor Cherry
(4).
Commissioner Hook offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of
Art Seelye, Recreation Director, I move that Lynette Evans be temporarily employed in
the Recreation Department of the City of Paducah, effective June 16, 1961, at a salary
of X175.00 per month. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Gholson, Hook and idayor Cherry (4).

Commissioner Hook offered motion as follows: Upon recommendation of the Colore,
Park Advisory Board, I move that O'Connor L. Stevens, Jr. be temporarily employed as
caretaker of the Colored Park, at a salary of ,¢180.00 per month, effective.June 16, 1961

Mayor Cherry offered the follo:•ring motion: I move that the folloming named
persons be employed as temporary laborers in ttY Street Division of the Public Works

Commissioner Davis offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "Ail ORDIIIANCE
ACCEPTII?G THE BID OF RU.'ITON TV AND SOUND CORPORATION FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH
KEPPPUCKY OF LONE (1) AEROTROU iiODEL 614100 BASE STATION FOR USE III TIES' POLICE DEPARTTIENT
DF THE CITY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON 13FICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE",
be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) Creek for public inspection
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on

MOBILE TRANSCEIVERS FOR USE IN TIM POLICE DEPARTi•IENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, Icc^i1TUCKY,
AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be introduced
and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed
form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
