At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on May 16, 1961, Mayor Cherry preside
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Hook being absent (1).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called
Meeting to be held at 7:30 P.M. on May 16, 1961, be received and filed. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that the follovring bids received for the sale
of Sive (5) police cars to the City of Paducah, be received and filed:

Ray H. Mullen Motor Company, Inc.

Commissioner Davis offered motion that the claim of Goldie Burnett (1014 North 1,

Street) against the City, in the sum of ;64.39, for damages to her motor vehicle, on or
about May 4, 1961, at 14th and Park Avenue, caused by a paddy wagon owned by the City,
be allowed and that the Treasurer pay said claim after securing a full and complete
release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson
and Mayor Cherry (4).
ley Commissioner Fendley offered motion that Richard Farnsley be employed temporarily
as a laborer in the Floodwall Department of the City, at a salary of 71.391 per hour,
retroactive to Nay 11, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Vholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the resignation of C. A. '.,lingo, Cgretake
of the Colored Park, effective June 16, 1961, be received, accepted and filed. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by
The Fidelity and Casualty Company of N$w York to Littleton, Inc, and the City of Paducah
Kentucky, for a period of one year from May 12, 1961, be received, approved and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor
Cherry (4).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that James :'f. I•Iorris be employed temporarily

as a seasonal laborer in the Cemetery Department of the City, at a salary of 01.00 per
hour, retroactive to I•lay 12, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissionerd
Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the endorsement to Bond No. 2543927
issued to Morrow and Company by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York increasing
said bond from :;1000 to •;12000, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,

Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the claim of Hollis and Griggs (1800

Commissioner Gholson offered motion that all bids received and filed by the Board
of Commissioners on 'March 28, 1961, for the sale to the City of one (1) Base Communica-
tion Unit and thirteen (13) Mobile Units for use in the Police Department be, and the
same are hereby, rejected. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file the
results of an election held on May 8, 1961 for the purpose of electing three (3) employe
members of the Board of Trustees of the Appointive Employees? Pension Fund. Adopted or.
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that Ray Tucker be employed temporarily as a laborer
in the Floodwall Department of the City, at a salary of ,1.39< per hour, retvoactive
to May 11, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commisstoners Davis, Fendley,
Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that Louis F. Reaves be employed temporarily as a
seasonal laborer in the Cemetery Department of the City, at a salary of 9'1.000 per hour,
retroactive to May 11, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH
WITH ITS REQUIREKENTS OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS
LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE
CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JULY 1, 1961TO JANUARY 1, 196211, be adopted. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).

REQUESTING TIL CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THIREEEN (13) MOBILE =SIUNICATIO;
UNITS FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTN•LNT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).

FIVE (5) Nva 1961 FOUR DOOR SEDAN MOTOR VEHICLES FOR USE INI THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF TH
CITY OF PADUCAH, KKITUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CO DITIONIS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHAL
BE MADE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspec-
tion in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).

THE APPORTIOIR-TNT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR
1961 AND APPROPRIATING THE PUBLIC REVENUE AND INCOME OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR SUCH
PURPOSES", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Cherry (4).
