At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 28, 1961, Mayor Cherr
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for March 14, 1961
be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as
written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson,
Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: I move that the term of Nat
Dortch as a member of Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency, which expired
February 23, 1961, I now reappoint, with the approval of a majority of the Board of
Commissioners, the said Nat Dortch as a member of said agency for a term expiring
February 23, 1965.
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve th,
action of Robert C. Cherry, Mayor, reappointing Nat Dortch as a member of the Urban
Renewal and Community Development Agency, for a period of four (4) years, expiring
February 23, 1965, so that said agency will have the following members for the
following terms:
Noble Clark for a term expiring February 23, 1962
Howard Woodall for a term expiring February 23, 1963
G. Anthony Johnston for a term ecpiring February 23, 1964
Carl Sears for a term expiring Februqry 23, 1964
Nat Dortch for a term expiring February 23, 1965

Commissioner Davis offered motion that the following bids submitted on base
communication unit, be received and filed:

Commissioner Davis offered motion that Kenneth Hyatte be employed temporarily
as a laborer in the Floodwall Department of the City at a salary of $1.391 per hour,
retroactive to March 8, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that Durward R. Harper, a Lieutenant in the
Fire Department, be promoted to the rank of Captain in said department, effective
April 1, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the folloring bids on Asphalt, be

Settle Claim Mr Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the claim of Mrs. Adine Langstaff (327

5th Street) against the City in the sum of $60.00, on account of personal injuries
leged to have happened by reason of a defect in the street at 327 South 5th Street, on
r about August 31, 1960 be allowed; I further move that the City Treasurer pay said

Employ Delbert C. Commissioner Fendley offered motion that Delbert C. Reeder be employed as a

per month, effective April 1, 1961, provided that by such time he furnishes, at his
expense, the City Manager with a satisfactory ledical report as to his physical conditio ,
