Proceedings of Board of Commissioners Gty of Paducah January 23 1961
NAt a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:00 o'clock P.M. on January 23, 1961, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called
Meeting to be held at 5:00 P.M. on January 23, 1961, be received and filed. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas; Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5)
Liability Inl.1 Commissioner Dacis offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by The

Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Loren R. Jones and the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, for a period of one year from January 1, 1961, be received and filed.

Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray
Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that John Ellis, a temporary laborer in the
Street Division of the Department of Public Works, be placed under Civil Service as a
laborer in said division, effective February 1, 1961, at the compensation as provided
by ordinance. Adopted on call of.the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray
Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that Freddie Bundren, a Mechanic Helper in the
Street Division of the City of Paducah, be advanced to the position of Auto Repairman,
effective February 1, 1961, such employment being under Civil Service. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).

Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the liability insurance policy issued
by Meridian Mutual Insurance Company to the City of Paducah covering work done by
Blackford Heating and Plumbing Company for a period of one year from February 22, 1961,
be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the request of the Paducah Water Works
for authority to install approximately 190 feet of 8 inch water main along Kennedy Road,
beginning at the end of the existing main and extending to the south east corner of the
intersection of Kennedy and Blandville Road, be granted, and I further move that the
adoption of this resolution and the granting of this request will not obligate the City
of Paducah to pay water main rental until such time that said main is further extended e
it is necessary to install a fire hydrant. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).

SALARY THEREOF}, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON FEBRUARY 26, 1957,
AND AMENDED ON SEPTEMBER 22, 1959", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
