Procoedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah November 22, 1960

At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on November 22, 1960, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Fendley was

absent when the meeting was called to order.
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for October 25 and
November. 9, 1960, be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City
Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Sell lot Oak ✓ Commissioner Davis offered motion as follows: I move that the Board of Commissio -

& Mildred L. ers approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Anthony I. Wurth and Mildred L. Wurth of

the south one-half of Lot No. 28 in Block No. 2 of the Mausoleum Addition to Oak Grove

I further move that the City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute a deed

be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call

Robert E. Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray

to Truck Driv'r Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that Robert E. Dossett, a laborer in the Street
Division of the City of Paducah, be advanced t6 the position of Truck Driver, effective

Refuse & Sewe7Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the reports of the Paducah Water Works
settlements
October, 1960] be received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City Treasurer
to be deposited in the proper accounts:
Refuse collections for October, 1960 $9,856.55
Sewer Service charges for October, 1960 9,813.00
Bad Refuse accounts collected during October,1960 8.60

Resignation John Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the resignation of John R. Bundy as

Rodman in the Engineering Department of the City of Paducah, effective as of October 7,
1960, be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners

of the City of Paducah, be advanced to the position of Truck Driver, effective December 1

Mayor execute Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized t

execute, on behalf of the City of Paducah, a certain Lease between City of Paducah,
Kentucky and County of McCracken to the United States of America, covering the building
on Barkley Field containing 883 square feet of space, being Contract No, FA1-1219, for a
period of one (1) year from July 1, 1960; said Lease having heretofore been executed by
County of McCracken, Kentucky, and Padudah Airport Corporation, Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Sell Cemetery lot Commissioner Hook offered the following motion: I move that this Board approve
to Roy Simmons
the sale by the City of Paducah to Roy Simmons of the south side of Lot 422 in Section 29
in Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of X160.00.
I further move that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance
[to said cemetery lot. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,

License Inspector Commissioner Hook offered the following motion: I move that the motions adopted by
travel expense
the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky on November 20, 1956 and on
August 12, 1958, granting monthly travel allowance to the License Inspector be, and the
same are hereby, repealed and rescinded. I further move that the travel expenses of the
License Inspector be placed under the direction and supervision of the City Manager on a

Commissioner Fendley offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANC
ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF WOODROW HOOK AND WIFE, LILLIAN HOOK, HARRY MATHIS AND WIFE,
FLORENCE MATHIS, AND WOODROW HOOK AND HARRY MATHIS, PARTNERS, DOING BUSINESS AS.iH & M
MOTORS FOR THE CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN LAND OWNED BY THEM AS PAYMENT FOR CERTAIN LAND
OWNED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAME,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO CONVEY SAID LAND OWNED BY THE CITY TO
WOODROW HOOK AND WIFE, LILLIAN HOOK, HARRY MATHIS AND WIFE, FLORENCE MATHIS", be

Commissioner Hook offered the following motion: I move that an ordinance
entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF L. E. CROLLEY, DOING BUSINESS AS CROLLEY
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $$33,689.35 FOR FURNISHING ALL 14ATERIAL AND 11ORK
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONTRACT NO. 1 BELLEAlEADE SANITARY SEWERS IN THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE, ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY A CONTRACT
WITH L. E. CROLLEY, DOING BUSINESS AS CROLLEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, FOR SAID MATERIAL
AND WORK, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID CONTRACT", be introduced
and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form
in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
