Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah November 9, 1960
At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 9, 1960, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called
Meeting to be held at 7:30 P.M. on November 9, 1960, be received and filed. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor
Cherry (5).
Police report] Commissioner Davis offered motion that the report of the police department

Liab, insurance Commissioner Davis offered motion that the liability insurance policy issued by
Slay Plumbingi V
& Heating i the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company to the City of Paducah, covering work
done by N. C. Slay d/b/a Slay Plumbing and Heating for a period of one year from
October 14, 1960, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).

amounts of same totaling $1,789.22 be exonerated on the tax bills shown and designated

Noble Park Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the City Manager be, and he is hereby,

Grant of authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City, a Grant of Concession to

Pay Cochran Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby,

Wade Sub. authorized and directed to pay from the Sewer Connection and Service Fund Account in

the Paducah Bank the sum of $7,480.00, to Crolley Construction Company and George G.
Cochran & Sons for full payment of the City's portion of the sewer construction cost
in the Wade Subdivision. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
File contract! Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the executed copy of the contract between

collector `% the City of Paducah and Bogie Equipment Company, for the sale to the City of one new
Tarco - Vacuum Leaf and Litter Collector, dated October 29, 1960, be received and filed.

Bd. of Trust(ies Commissioner Cholson offered motion that the letter from the Board of Trustees

Employ Mfrs. Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: I move that Mrs. Martha
Martha Lou
Sargent Temp Lou Sargent be employed temporarily in the Finance Department of the City of Paducah,
Finance Dept.
Kentucky, retroactively effective as of October 17, 1960, at a salary of $190.00 per
month; such appointment being temporary with no sick leave or any other benefits
provided for by ordinance, and such employment is to be only as long as needed by the
City Treasurer and such services may be terminated at any time upon his request.

Plumbing & Heating Report Service and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one
year from November 1, 1960, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
File Minutes of Commissioner Hook offered motion that a copy of the Minutes of a meeting of
Lone Oak Water
District 1 the Board of Commissioners of the Lone Oak Water District held on November 2, 1960,
requesting the execution by the City of a proposed Supplemental Contract, be received
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson,
Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).

Mayor Cherry offered motion that the petition signed by Ted A. Campbell and
others, requesting the City to have the Kentucky Utilities increase the street lights
in the one hundred block on North Third from the present three to six lights and incr
ing the candle power of all six lights, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND THE LONE OAK WATER
DISTRICT, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION THEREOF", be adopted. . Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
