At a Regular 'fleeting of the Hoard of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on October 11, 1960, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and :ayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Gholson was
absent when the meeting was called to order.
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for September 27,
1960 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be
approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,
Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that the petition of Fred Carpenter and his
wife, Beatrice Carpenter, to make one three quarter (3/4) inch connection to a six inch
water main owned by Paducah 'dater 'forks, so as to furnish water to one residence only
upon a tract of land fronting 242 feet on the Nest side of Stewart Nelson Park Road
and being Lots 11 and 12 of the subdivision of the Mildred Evelyn 1•11aret property, owned
by petitioners, located in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits
of the City of Paducah, be received and filed, and that the request petitioned for
therein be granted, subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Adopted
on call. of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the petition of Russell Talton and
his wife, Linda Talton, for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the existing
privately owned water pipe line of the Husbands Road Community Water Company for the
purpose of furnishing water to one residence only to be constructed upod a lot awned
by petitioners fronting 80 feet on the west side of Husbands Road in McCracken County
Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned for therein be granted
subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Hook offered motion that the petition of Irene Bizzell, for
permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the privately owned water pipe line of the
Husbands Road Community 'dater Company, for the purpose of furnishing ;later to one resi-
dence only to be constructed upon property owned by petitioner fronting 121 feet on the
north side of Dixie Avenue in McCracken County, outside the corporate limits of Paducah,
Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned for therein be granted
subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that the executed copy of the contract
betweeh Tennessee Valley Authority, the Electric Plant Board of the City of Paducah
and the City of Paducah, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that the resignation of Roscoe Free from
employment in the Department of Public 'forks, effective September 6, 1960, be received,
accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Hook and Idayor Cherry (4).

Resignation iV Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the resignation of Robert E. Jones as a

received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners

Rankin, a member of the police department of said City, be received and filed, and I
further move that a hearing of said charges be held on October 14, 1960, at the hour
of 7:30 o'clock P.M. in the Commission "hamber at the City Hall in Paducah, Kentucky,
and that the City Clerk immediately notify the said Bert Rankin of such charges against
him and the date, time and place of hearing by having a true copy of said charges served
upon him, together with a Notice of the time, date and place of hearing. Adopted on

against him and the date, time and place of hearing by having a true copy of said charge
served upon him, together with a Notice of the time, date and place of hearing.
