Pmceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah May 10, 1960
At a Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissi,
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on I•lay 10, 1960, Mayor Cherry
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Fendley being absent (1).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for April 2
I•Iay 3, 1960 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City
be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Da

Commissioner Davis offered motion that the letter from Mrs. Flora Fields
addressed to 7•1r. R. L. Brockman, City I•Ianager, expressing appreciation for the courtesy
extended them during the Scout -O -Rama last week, be received and filed. Adopted on
/call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that the letter from Mrs. Flora Fields addresse
to Mr. Rulie Elliott & Staff expressing appreciation for the way in which they handled
the parade during Scout -O -Rama last week, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).

Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: I move that the resignation of
Roy Hughes, Sr. as a member of the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission be received
and filed. I further move that said resignation be accepted as of this date. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).

requesting that a substantial salary increase be granted each member of that department,

Manager with a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition, including an

Mayor Cherry made the following appointment:
WHEREAS, Roy Hughes, Sr. having resigned as a member of the Paducah Planning anc
Zoning Commission, I hereby appoint Harry Connor as a member of said Commission to fill
the unexpired term of the said Roy Hughes, Sr. which term will expire on Murch 19, 1962,
so that said Commission as now constituted shall be composed of the following members:

Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the
action of Robert C. Cherry, Mayor, appointing Harry Connor to serve as a member of the
Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).

member of said commission for a term of six (6) years, which term will expire on I•larch
26, 1966.
I also hereby appoint Dr. W. Clyde Peel, Jr as a member of said Paducah Golf
Commission for a term expiring on I•larch 26, 1962, to fill the vacancy created by the
resignation of William Reeves.
Said Board as now constituted shall be composed of the following members:

Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the
action of Robert C. Cherry, mayor, appointing Dr. w. Clyde Peel, Jr. as a member of the
Paducah Golf Commission for a term expiring March 26, 1962; and also the action of the
Mayor reappointing Harry Bolser as a member of said Golf Commission for a term expiring
