At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 8, 1960, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for February
23, 29 and March 3, 1960 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by
the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the petition of Kenneth H. Clymer and his
wife Edith F. Clymer, for permission to make one 3/4 -inch connection to the existing
8 -inch water main owned by the Paducah Water Works located on Buckner Lane, for the
purpose of furnishing water to one residence only to be constructed upon a lot fronting
100 feet on the north side of Buckner Lane in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside
the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that
the request in said petition be granted in accordance with the terms and conditions
in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
/ Commissioner Davis offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve
the sale by the City of Paducah to Ben Paxton of the north west and north east corners
of Lot No. 8 in Block No. B of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that
the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery graves.

/ Commissioner Davis offered motion that the financial report of Paducah
r Junior College fpr the year 1959, together with the proposed budget for the calendar
year 1960, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the bond executed by Gilbert's
Plumbing & Heating Company, Inc, in the amount of $$4,000.00, dated February 25, 1960,
be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that a certified copy of an Order
entered by Roy M. Shelbourne, Presiding Judge, United States District Court, Western
s District of Kentucky, on December 23, 1959, appointing H. Clyde Reeves of Louisville,
Kentucky as the third member of the Board of Appraisers established under the Kentucky
Utilities Company's franchise, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the following bids on parking
meters be received and filed:
Duncan Parking Meter Division of Motor Products Corp.
Mico Meter Sales Company of Kentucky
Magne-Hale Park -O -Meter Company
The Dual Parking Pieter Company

Employ Carl Commissioner Hook offered motion that Carl E. Torian be employed as a fireman

Fireman in the fire department of the City of Paducah at the beginning salary of y270.00
per month, effective March 16, 1960, provided that by such time he furnishes, at his
expense, the City I -Tanager with a satisfactory medical report as to his physical con-
dition, including an electrocardigram. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,

request 1. Copy of the Minutes of the Board of Education of March 4, 1960 relative to
the Special School Tax Rate of 46¢.
2. 6opy of a Resolution of the Board of Education of March 4, 1960 relative
to the Regular School Tax Rate and Poll Tax.
3. Copy of the General Budget for 1960 of the Paducah Independent School
District.

SEPTEMBER 22, 1959", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
