At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber bf the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.id. on January 7.6, 1960, !-ZJor
Pro Tem Hook presided in the absence of idayor Cherry, and upon the call of the Roll
the following answered to their names: Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and
'ayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Mayor Pro Tem Hook offered motion that the reading of the t?inutes for January
12, 1960 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk
be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Gholson, and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: I move that the memorandum of
January 18, 1960 from J. L. Rutter, Treasurer, to the Board of Commissioners regardinc
the investment of ;100,000.00 of the General Sinking Fund Account in United States
Securities maturing in January 1961, and N100,000.00 of the General Fund of the City
in similat securities maturing in !.lay, 1960, be received and filed.
I further move that the Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to make such investment. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioner:
Davis, Fendley, Gholson and I•'iayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that Paul Iverlet be employed as a temporary
laborer in the Floodwall Department, effective January 20, 1960, at the sum of
%1.25 per hour. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley,
Gholson and i•:ayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Davis offered motion that the reports of the Paducah Mater Works
be received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City
Treasurer to be deposited in the proper accounts:
Refuse Collections for December, 1959 "'10,335.95
Seiner Service Accounts for December, 1959 10,264.50
Bad refuse accounts collected during December 8.00

Pro Tem Hoole (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve
the sale by the City of Paducah to Zula Cartwright of the north crest corner of Lot
No, 12 in Block I?o. $ of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the
City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor
Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the sum of ;;100.00 be paid by the Cit
Treasurer to the Citizens for Low Cost Power for membership fee of the City and the
Electric Plant Board, same to be charged to Account I;u*ber 1403. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Ten Hook (I,).
Com=missioner Fendley offered motion that the Audit Report of the City of
Paducah for the year ended December 31, 1959, prepared by lilliams, 'ailliams and
Lentz, Certified Public Accountants, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson and !layor Pro Tem Hook (4).

Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the executed copy oC the contract
between the City of Paducah and ilanning and Shipley, Inc, for the sale to the City of
one (1) nc:idodel „616 Gar Mood Loadpacker, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and I•layor Pro Tem !?oo'"c (4).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that a copy of the final report made be the
Judge of the I•YcCracken Circuit Court by the _:cCracken County Grand Jury, shooing results
of inspection of all public prisons, etc. be received and filed. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that copies of letters from the State Fire
7arshall's Office attaching lists of minimum requirements that rn-11 be necessary in
order to bring all city and county school buildings into compliance with the Kentucky
Standards of Safety as required by law, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the Boll, Yeas, Commissioners David, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (1p).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
APPROVIIIG TIB; FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANIIIiIG AND ZONING COP• •IISSION RESPECTIiIG THF
SUBDIVISIOI.1 OF PROPERTY OF MRS. J. P. SMITH, LYING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF OLD HAYFIELD
ROAD EAST OF CORNELL STREET, APPROVING THE PLAT OF SAID SUBDIVISION, AND SUBDIVIDIiIG
SAID PROPERTY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Fendley, Gholson and i+layor Pro Tem Hook (4).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
