At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on January 13, 1959, Mayor
Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Yiayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for December 23,
1958 be waived and that the I•iinutes for said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk,
be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the petition of Mollie Brewer Prince,
for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the privately owned water pipe line
of the Husbands Road Community Water Company for the purpose of furnishing water to one
residence only to be constructed upon a lot owned by petitioner fronting 135 feet on
the east side of Husbands Road in McCracken County, Kentucky, be received and filed and
that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions
in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion t hat the resignation of James D. White,
Chainman in the Engineering Department, effective January 3, 1959, be received,
accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Report police ✓ Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the report of the police department

for the month of December, 1958, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll,

Commissioner Fendley offered motion that exonerations prepared and delivered by
the City Treasurer, being x/20193, through #20251, inclusive, be received and filed,
and that the amounts of same totaling ;;1,523.16 be exonerated on the tax bills shown
and designated by said exonerations. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued
by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Morrow & Company and the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from January 1, 1959, be received,
approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Audit Report of the Paducah
Water Works for the fiscal year ended October 31, 1958, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook
and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive,
approve and file Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company
to C. C. England & M. C. Ruggles, Jr., and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, covering
trucking operations writhin the City for a period of one year from January 1, 1959.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook
and Mayor Jacobs (5).

Commissioner Hook offered motion that the executed contract between the City
of Paducah and the D -X Sunray Oil Company, for the furnishing of motor oil, diesel
fuel, chassis lubricant, gear lube oil, hydraulic oil, kerosene and anti -freeze for
the period from January 1, 1959 through June 30, 1959, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook
and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the letter of Torchey E. Norman, V. A.
Hospital, Jackson, Mississippi, dated January 6, 1959, complimenting Officers Hoskins
and Thompson of the Paducah Police force, be received and filed. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs
(5).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN
ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND AUTHORIZING THE EI•TLOYI-IIENT OF BURNS & McDONNELL ENGINEERI
COI•iPANY OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI IPI ESTABLISHING A GENERAL VALUATION OF ALL ELECTRIC
PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY NOW O';HJED BY
KENTUCKY UTILITIES COP-TANY, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY FiANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAME !'LITH SAID COATANY AND SETTING FORTH THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS OF SUCH CONTRACT", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection
for at least one (1) week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its
final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
