of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on December 9, 1958, Mayor Jacobs
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for November 25, 1958
be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved
as written. Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley,
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Plater connec- - Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the petition of Thomas A. Harr and his

owned by the Paducah Plater Works located on Kentucky Street, for the purpose of furnishing
water to one residence only upon part of Lots 7, 8 and 9 in Block F, in E. D. Thurman's
Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, fronting 75 feet on the west side of Kentucky)
Street in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City of 1

that the request in said petition be granted in accordance with the terms and conditions

Private Garbag ' Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the application of N. E. Paschall for
permit _17.E.
Paschall permission to pick up garbage only, no refuse, from Kresge's and Harris, Fruit Stand,
to be transported outside the city for feeding purposes, be granted upon payment of the
fee provided by ordinance, and that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to issue such permit. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).

Commissioner Fairhurst offered the following motion: I move that the letter
from Ed Turner, Fire Chief, addressed to the City Manager, dated November 25, 1958,
advising that James Louis Leneave has completed fifteen (15) days of Probationary
period in the Fire Department and recommending that his appointment be made permanent
as of November 25, 1958, be received and filed, and I further move that said James
Louis Leneave be and he is now made a permanent employee of the Fire Department.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook
and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered the following motion: I move that the letter
from Ed Turner, Fire Chief, addressed to the City Manager, dated November 27, 1955,
advising that Billy Don English has completed fifteen (15) days of probationary period
in the fire department and recommending that his appointment be made permanent as of
November 27, 1955, be received and filed, and I further move that said Billy Don Englisl
be and he is now made a permanent employee of the Fire Department. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: I move that John B. Blackbi
Attorney at Law of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and he is hereby employed, on a contingent
fee basis, as a Delinquent and Omitted Insurance License Collector for the City of
Paducah for all omitted and delinquent insurance license taxes due the City for any
years. Said Attorney shall receive as compensation the sum equal to 50=;0 of all
insurance license taxes, penalties and interest collected and paid into the City
Treasury on delinquent and omitted insurance license taxes. The said Attorney shall,
prior to commencing collection, execute a surety bond in favor of the City in the amoum
of y1,000.00, said bond shall provide for the faithful accounting of all money that may
•come into his hands. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,

Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the sum of 9`500.00 be contributed to
Ilthe Salvation Army, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to issue
