At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 25, 1958, Mayor Jacobs
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner;
Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and (Mayor Jacobs (5).
Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for October 28th &
November 5th, 1958 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the
City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and ;Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the petition of Jerry Toof and others,
requesting a street light in front of the National Guard Armory at 18th & Clark Streets,
together with a report of the Police Department concerning the need for a light- at this
location, be received and filed and that the City Manager be authorized to request
Kentucky Utilities Company to install said light. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
. Commissioner Fairhurst offered the following motion: I move that the Board of
Commissioners approve the sale to George H. Holloway of the North one-half of Lot No.
12 in Block No. 1, located on Tully Avenue in the Mausoleum Addition to Oak Grove
Cemetery upon payment of ;80.00 to the City Treasurer.
I further move that the City Clerk be directed to execute a deed of conveyance to
said cemetery lot. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley
Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered the following motion: I move that the Board of
Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mrs. Frank ;Myatt of the South
one-half of Lot No. 14 in Block No. 5, being 9x20 feet located on Holt Avenue between
Brooks Avenue and Stewart Street in the Mausoleum Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery upon
payment of X120.00 to the City Treasurer.
I further move that the City Clerk be directaed to execute a deed of conveyance to
said cemetery lot. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive,
approve and file Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity ": Casualty Company
of New York to Brady & Robert Rhomasson, d/b/a Brady Thomasson & Son and the City of
Paducah, Kentucky for a period of one year from December 29, 1958. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, (look and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: I. move that the salary of
Gerald Casey, Temporary Laborer in the Maintenance Department, be increased to .J220.00
per month effective December 1, 1958.
I further rove that at the expiration of six months from the effective date of
the aforesaid increase, said salary be further increased to u225.00 per month, and at
thr: expiration of another six months said salary to be increased to ;230.00 per month, ,
said increases to be made upon recommendation of the City P•,nnager. Adopted on call

Increase salary Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: I move that the salary

I further move that at the expiration of six months from the effective
date of the aforesaid increase, said salary be further increased to 0225.00 per month,
and at the expiration of another six months said salary to be increased to ;)230.00
per month, said increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.

Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the reports of the Paducah Water
'.,forks be received and filed and that the following checks be turned over to the city
Treasurer to be deposited in the proper accounts:
Refuse collections October 31, 1958 ;N9,703.80
Bad refuse Accounts collected during October 4.00
Sewer Service Charges October 31, 1958 9,917.50

Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: I move that the letter
of Barney f. Sproul, E. L. Hayden and H. L. Coker, Sr., members of the present Board
equalization of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, dated November 24th, 1958, requesting
an extension of time until Noon December 10, 1958 in order to complete their work, be
received and filed.
I further move that for such cause said extension be granted under the terms
off'S 92.440(5). Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson, Hook. and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that an attested copy of a Resolution
adopted by the Paducah Board of Education on November 10, 1958, concerning the employ-
ment of an attorney for the collection of delinquent taxes, be received and filed.

Co=issioner Gholson offered motion that the claim of Mrs. John Grim, for
injuries received on or about June 25, 1953 by reason of an alleged defective manhole
