At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on June 24, 1955, Nayor Pro
Tem }look presided in the absence of Mayor Jacobs, and upon call of the Roll the
following answered to their names: Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and
i•Payor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Mayor Pro Tem Hook offered motion that the reading of the Minutes fortune
14, 1955 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk
be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the petition of Herman L. Deem, Jr.,
for permission to make one (3/4) inch connection to the 6 inch water main owned by the
Paducah Water works so as to furnish water to one residence located upon a lot fronting
96.'70 feet on the northeast side of 11orth woodland Drive in McCracken County, Kentucky,
and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, be received and filed and that
the request in said petition be granted in accordance with th terms and conditions in
said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhyrst, Fendley,
Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: I move that he petition
signed by Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Chappell'and others, requesting the installation of a
street 1 ight between 21st and 23rd Streets on Jackson, together with a recommendation
from the Police Department, be received and filed; I further move that tb City Manager
be authorized to request installation of a light at 2105 Jackson and that he notify
Kentucky Utilities Company to make such installation. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook
Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the letter from Joe B:itchell,
Promotion Manager of the Paducah Sun -Democrat, dated June 12, 1955, thanking the Payor
for issuing a permit for use of the riverfront for a water show and the Board of
Commissioners, present and past, for their interest in the development of the water-
front into a useful and popular area for public recreation, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Comnissionors Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor
Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered the following motion: I move that a memorandum
dated June 17, 1955, from the Director of Public works, re.rarding the absence of Donald
R. Clark from wort: without permission, be received and filed; I further rnoe that said �
Donald 1t. Clark he terninated as a laborer in the Street Division of the Public works,

THE PURCHASE OF ALL REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS LUBRICA
GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
