At a Called Meetong of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:00 P.M. on I -lay 14, 1958, Nayor Jacob
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commission-
ers Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5).
The meeting was called for the purpose of hearing charges preferred by
Lloyd C. Emery, City Manager and Ed Turner, Fire Chief, against Richard Dickerson
and R. E. (Willie) Williams, employees of the fire department of the City of Paducah.
The charges against Richard Dickerson were read to him by the City Clerk,
after which he entered a plea of guilty to being intoxicated off duty, but entered
a plea of not guilty to the remainder of the charges. Whereupon testimony on behalf
of the Complainants was introduced and the defendant testified in person. The
meeting was recessed for the purpose of consideration of the charges by the Mayor and
Commissioners and was thereafter reopened and it was announced by the Mayor that a
decision would be made in the matter at the next regular meeting of the Board on
May 24, 1958.
VFhereupon the charges against R. E. (Willie) Williams were read to
him by the City Clerk, and the said R. E. (Willie) Williams entered a plea of
guilty to the charges. The meeting was recessed for the purpose of consideration
of the charges by the Mayor and Commissioners and was thereafter reopened and it
was announced by the Mayor that a decision would be made in the matter at the next
regular meeting of the Board of May 24, 1958.
On motion the meeting adjourned.
