Proceedings of Hoard of Commissioners _ City of Paducah March
At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at $:30 A.M. on March 15, 1958, Mayor Pro Tem Hook
presided in the absence of Mayor Jacobs and upon call of the Roll the following answered
totheir names: Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor.Protem Hook (4)
Mayor Pro Tem Hook offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for March 8,
1958 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be
approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that this Board receive, file and approve
Bond of Roe Wilkins in the amount of $1,000.00, dated March 11th, 1958. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Miayor Pro Tem
Hook (4).
Bond & policy ,; Commissioner Gholson offered motion that this Board receive, file and approve
East Baptist I/
Ch. Trustees liability insurance policy issued by the Great American Indemnity Company protecting
the City of Paducah with respect to work done by the Trustees of the East Baptist Church
for a period of one year from December 2, 1957; also bond in the amount of `,31,000.00
p dated I•larch 10, 1958. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
Application Commissioner Gholson offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION
Loan for Low- I.
Rent Housing APPROVING APPLICATION FOR PRELIMINARY LOAN FOR LO11-REFIT PUBLIC HOUSING", be adopted.

Accept bid of Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE

Asphalt ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE SOUTHLAND COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF MC -2, MU -3, RC -2
AND RC -3 LIQUID ASPHALT REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAI£ DURING 1958; AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID I•IATERIAL;
AND PRESCRIBING THE TERNS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE", be
introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one (1) week in the
completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the'

DURING 1955, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAME, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID

File Resolutions Commissioner Fendley offered motion that a certified copy of the Resolution of
Board of
Education the Board of Education of the City of Paducah adopted on October 15, 1957, appointing
Fiscal Agt.
Stein Bros and Boyce Bonding Agents for the Southside School Projects for a fee not
to exceed one percent (1%) of the proposed issue of $160,000.00 in bonds, be received
and filed, and he further moved that a certified copy of a Resolution adopted by said
Board on I•larch 7, 1958 ratifying such appointment and requesting the City of Paducah,
Kentucky to ratify and accept said agreement, be received and filed. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem
Hook (4).
Bond of Hal / Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the performance bond executed by Hal
Perry South-
side Elem. Perry as Principal and the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company of Dartford, Connecticut,

as Surety, for the construction of the Southside Elementary School be received,
approved and attached to the contract For the construction of such school. Adopted

proposed sale date of March 29, 1958 at 9:00 A.M. in the Courier -Journal, a newspaper
published in the City of Louisville, Kentucky and of general circulation throughout
the State of Kentucky of a "Notice of Bond Sale" calling for bids for the purchase
of $160,000.00 of City of Paducah School Building Revenue Bonds dated April 1, 1958
in the form attached hereto. I further move that only those bids be considered for
the purchase of said X160,000.00 of City of Paducah School Building Revenue Bonds
that are submitted on bid forms supplied by the City Clerk, a copy of which bid form
is attached hereto and that the City Clerk furnish copies of the bid form to interestE
bidders on said bonds. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (4).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
