Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, ay 8:30 A.;;, on October 19, 1957, I-layor
Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and I•Iayor Jacobs (5)
Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the ;•linutes for October 12, 19
be waived and that the i6inutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approve
as written. Adopted on call of tha Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride
Trevathan and Kayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Lally offered motion that the petition of Jacob D. Childers, and
his wife, Viola Childers, for permission to make one (3/4) inch connection to the
privately owed water pipe line of the Husbands Road Community 'slater Company for the
purpose of furnishing mater to one residence only on a lot owned by petitioners frontin,
120 feet on the south side of Homewood Avenue in bcCracken County, Kentucky, be receive
and filed and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms
and conditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and I•tayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Contract entered into between the
City of Paducah and Taylor Ylilson Chevrolet -Cadillac, Inc. for the sale to the City of
one 1957 Chevrolet one-half ton pick-up truck be received and filed. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, I•IcBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs
(5).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, fil
and approve Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of
Herr York to Eduard S. Dorms & Joe E. Downs d/b/a Edward S. Doo -ms & Son and the City of
Paducah, Kentucky for a period of one year from november 30, 1957. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and layor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Lally offered motion that Dan -tin Lee Reed, a Chaimnan in the
Engineering Department, be, and he is hereby, promoted to Rodman in such department
at a salary of •;255.00 per month, retroactive to October 1, 1957. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and ;•:ayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner ::cBride offered motion that the report of the police department
on ir.prop^.r parking and drunk under the wheel for the period ending October 18, 1957,
be roceived and filed. Adopted on call of the :toll, Yeas, Cor issionars Clark,
Lally, ::c ride, Trevathan and Eayor Jacobs (5).

I further move that the City ,:anagcr request the Retail tbrchants Association
to cause bags to be placed on all of said meters before 8 o'clock A.il. on October
21, 1957 and to be removed before 8 o'clock A.Id. the following morning. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and :-Iayor Jacobs
Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that the executed Contract between the
.i y of Paducah and Roe 'Jilkins Construction Company for the furnishing and erecting of
e;;ain link fence at the site of the sewerage treatment plant, together with a performan
bond, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZI":G AND DIRECTING THE CORPORATIOV COUNSEL AND/OR THE FIRST ASSISTANT CORPORATIO;
COUNSEL OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO INSTITUTE IN THE I•''cCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT
AN ACTION TO TEST THE VALIDITY OP CHAPTER 16 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
COIL OlF-dEALTH OF KENTUCKY AT ITS 1956 REGULAR SESSION, 1,-1HICH ACT IS 1101.1 DESIGNATED AS
KENTUCKY REVISED STATUTES SECTIOI'IS 95.851 TO 95.885, INCLUSIVE", BE ADOPTED. Adopted o3

Commissioner Lally offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "A" ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN LAPID IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY FROM JOE TUCKER AND HIS
'JIFE, RUTH TUCKER, TO BE USED AS A CONNECTING LINK BETJE= THE SOUTH END OF HARAHAN
AVE -:!UE, AND THE NORTH END OF SHELBY STREET", be introduced and remain on file for
public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form in which it shall be
put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark,
Lally, i:c3ride, Trevathan and b:ayor Jacobs (5).
Co=issioner Trevathan offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "Ai]
