Proceedings of City of Paducah Y ,
At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 8:30 A.M. on July 27, 1957, Jlayor Jacobs preside
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Clark,
Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for July 13, 1957
be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Cleric be approved
as written. Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride
Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Employ Isaac Commissioner Clark offered motion that the employment of Isaac Lee ilatson, as

Taborer Public temporary laborer in the Public I1lorks Department of the City of Paducah, be affirmed and

ratified as of July 22, 1957, and that said person be paid for such work at the rate

Employ Donald Commissioner Clark offered motion that the employment of Donald Lee Trimble, as

Commissioner McBride offered motion that this Board receive and file the letter
from Mrs. Ethel DuBois Smith thanking the City for the coal which was moved to the
Priendly Home for Children. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark,
Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner McBride offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive
file the letter from Robert Flowers thanking the City for clearing the lot at 18th and
Clark Streets for ude as a play ground. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,

Commissioner McBride offered motion that the check from Paducah 'Yater :'forks
in the amount of 14.80 for bad refuse accounts collected during June, 1957, be turned
over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the general fund. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Trevathan offered motion t hat the letter from F. W. 'foolworth
Company expressing appreciation for the cooperation of the Police Department for the
reporting of a fire on June 27, 1957 and for the work of the Police and Fire Department
in extinguishing same and further stating the Company's desire to contribute ;1100.00
to the Police and Firemen's Pension Fund, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the Roll, 'leas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that Lawrence Garfield Sons be employed
as temporary laborer under the supervision of the Chief of the Maintenance Department
the City of Paducah, Kentucky as of July 22, 1957, and that he be paid for such work
at the rate of ,10212.00 per month. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive,
file and approve the following:
Liability policy issued by the Employers' Liability Assurance Corporation,
Limited, covering work done by G & H Plumbing £c Heating Company for a period of one
year from July 11, 1957.
