At a Regular mcetinr of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissio
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 8.30 A.M. on March 30, 1957, Mayor
Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for I•larch
23, 1957 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk
be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, ,Yeas, Commissioners Clark,
Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Clark offered the following motion: I move that this
Board receive and file the letter from Oscar K. Talmage, City Treasurer, relative to
a refund in the amount of 1)5.00 to Mr. Taylor Cress of the Operle Poster Advertising
Company.
Since it appears that the permit for said sign has not and will not be
used, I further move that said amount be refunded to Mr. Cress. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathgn and Mayor Jacobs (5)
Commissioner Clark offered the following motion: I move that J. ;l.
Fletcher be appointed as a special park policeman beginning Aiarch 30, 1957 at a salary
of ,160.00 per month, payable one-half from the City and one-half from the Park Board
White, appropriation, Account No, 4200. The said J. W. Fletcher shall work only on
days and times as directed by thb Director of Parks and Recreation and the salary to
be paid him shall be based upon the number of days worked each month.
This appointment is temporary and the appointee shall acquire no rights
under any Civil Service Statutes or Ordinance. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Acceptance of March 28, 1957
of Williams and Williams, Certified Public Accountants, to make an audit of the account
of the City as of March 31, 1957 and December 31, 1957 for the sum of :3,000.00 of
which •;:1,000.00 is to be paid upon the completion of the audit as of March 31, and
;,2,000.00 to be paid upon completion of same as of December 31, be received and filed.

Commissioner Lally offered motion that the resignation of Oscar K.

Commissioner Lally offered the following motion: I move that the executed cozy
of a Deed of Conveyance from John P. Campbell to I•irs. Sara Smith Campbell, dated March
20, 1957, conveying an undivided one-half interest- in his undivided one-half interest
in Lots 244 and 245, Section 16 of Oak Grove Cemetery, be received and .filed, and that
this Board approve same.
I further move that the executed copy of an Affidavit of Descent dated March 20,
1957 signed by the said John P. Campbell shotivi.ng hoer he acquired the one-half interest
in said cemetery property be also received and filed.
And I further move that the City Clerk be directed to make the proper transfer
on the Cemetery Register. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark,
Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner McBride offered motion that the letter signed by members of the
Police Department thanking the Mayor and Commissioners for the salary increase recently
given their department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas
Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner McBride offered motion that the resignation of I'.ahlon R. Shelbourne
as Assistant Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, effective April 15,
1957, be received, filed and accepted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor -Jacobs (5).
Commissioner McBride offered motion that the report of the police department on
improper parking and drunk under the wheal for the period ending Narch 26, 1957, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally,
