HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 23, Page 379, February 5, 1957W 379 Proceedings of Bo-a-i:d_gf--Qgumissionera City of Paducah February 5,_1957 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on February 5, 1957, Mayor Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner: Clark, Lally, ,McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Payor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for January 29 and February 2, 1957 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings as prepared by the i City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Appoint 1�! Mayor Jacobs made the following appointment: Subject to the approval of the Franklin C Still Civil Defense ii Board of Commissioners, I hereby appoint Franklin C. Still to serve as the Director Director of Civil Defense for the City of Paducah, Kentucky. I, Approve Appoint- Commissioner McBride offered motion that the action of George G. Sell Grave/ Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sal Rushing Add toy; Ethel Whitfield by the City of Paducah to Ethel Whitfield of the east one-half of Lot NO. 26, in Block i No. 7 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authoriz to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Fiers, Secretary Milk Assoc. f Manager, Paducah Graded Milk Producers Association, expressing appreciation to the City li for the wonderful cooperation during the recent Paducah Faity Foods Festival, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Employ Extra % Commissioner Lally offered motion that the employment of David B. Miller and Floodwall employees Charlie Johnson on January 31, 1957, Paschall Kennerly, Carl Hays, Idilliam Brandon and James Harned on February 1, 1957, Andres C. Overton on February 2, 1957 and Milton J. Dezern on February 6, 1957 by Gene Ruoff, Floodwall Superintendent, for emergency !I £loodtirall operation work, be ratified and confirmed as of said dated and that said persons be paid for such work at the rate of :j1.171 per hour until dismissed by the Floodwall Superintendent after the flood emergency has ended. Williams, as Resignation CD Director Director of the Paducah Civil Defense Agency, be received, filed and accepted. Na 380 Proceedings of Board of, -Commissioner- City of Paducah February5. 1957 Sell grave inti/ Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that the Boqrd of Commissioners approve Rushing add w David Hamilton the sale by the City of Paducah to David Hamilton, Sr., of the West one-half of Lot No. Sr. 26 in Block No. 7 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Telegrams ✓ Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that the telegram from Emory Williams Sears Project dated %bruary 1, 1957, assuring that Sears will use best efforts to obtain dirt for the City after a building contract is awarded, and a copy of a telegram in answer sent to Dir. Williams by the Mayor and Commissioners, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Reauest bidsCommissioner Lally offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION used tractor - bulldozer REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY DIANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) USED TRACTOR BULLDOZER AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERI•IS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Social Sec- Commissioner McBride offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORIDINANCEI urity Old -age & y AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO EXECUTE A SPECIFIC Survivors Insurance CONTRACT 1,'7ITH THE STATE AGENCY OF THE OLD -AGE AND SURVIVORS INSURANCE SYSTEDPI, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Lease Parking j Commissioner Lally offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ::eter Heads ✓ i•iagee-Hale PROVIDING FOR THE LEASING FRODZ MAGEE-HALE PARK -O -DIETER COMPANY 50 MODEL H PARK -O -METER Park -O -;deter Company HEADS, BRONZE COLOR, AND 150 MODEL H PARK -O -METER HEADS, SILVER COLOR, AND THE PURCHASE OF SAID TITER HEADS BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, WHEN THE SUM OF $9.,520.00 IN. RENTALS SHALL HAVE BEEN PAID TO SAID COMPANY OUT OF THE REVENUE DERIVED FROM THE OPERATION OF SAID METERS; PROVIDING FOR THE TRADE-IN OF 150 USED METER HEADS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AIJD EXECUTE A LEASE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH; AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO BE CONTAINED IN SAID LEASE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
