Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah October 2. 1956

At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on October 2, 1956, Mayor
Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).

Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for September 25,
1956 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepabed by the City Clerk be
approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally
McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the report of the police department
showing summary of arrests, tickets collected and collections for the month of
September, 1956, be received and filed. ' Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Lally offered the following motion: WHEREAS, on September 21,
1955, Cornell #owes Corporation as Principal and Employers Liability Assurance Cor-
poration as Surety, executed to the City of Paducah a bond covering responsibility
for constructing and maintaining during construction streets in what is known as
Brookhaven Subdivision, and
WHEREAS, according to a memorandum of Ray Kayse, Superintendent of Public
Works of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, dated August 22, 1956, all of such construe -
tion and maintenance has been properly done.
NOW THEREFORE, I move that the aforesaid Cornell Homes Corporation as
Principal and Employers Liability Assurance Corporation as Surety, be relieved from
all liability arising from the execution of said bond. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Lally offered motion that the report of'the police department
for the month of September, 1956, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner McBride offered motion that the resignation of Gerald Stewart
as Chief of Police of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, effective as of mid -night
September 30, 1956, be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner McBride offered motion that the report of the police department j

Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINA14CE
ACCEPTING THE BID OF GEORGE R. T11CMAS TRUCK & TRACTOR COMPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY'
OF PADUCAH, K—ENTUCK7 OF ONE VMS-FGURTHS TON TRUCK, CAB AND CHASSIS, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY hiA?IAGE.R TO CONTRACT TO PURCHASE SAME", be introduced and remain on file for
public inspection for at least one week in the completed form in which it shall be

put upon its final passage. Adopted
