At a Regular fleeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Cit;7Ibel
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.i•i. on June 26, 1956, i.ayor Pro Tern
Trevathan presided in the absence of Mayor Jacobs and upon call of the Roll the
follovring answered to their names: Commissioners Clark, I•EcBride and Mayor Pro Tem
Trevathan (3).
Mayor Pro Tem Trevathan offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for
June 12, and June 22, 1956 be visived and that the Minutes of said meetings as.prepared
by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Clark, McBride and Mayor Pro Tem Trevathan (3).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the petition executed on June 26, 1956
by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, requesting aid and
assistance of the Department of Revenue of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and its
Valuation Division in causing a reappraisal of the assessment valuation of property
within the city, be received, approved and filed, and I further move that a certified
copy of same be immediately forwarded by the City Clerk, to the Department of Revenue
at Frankfort, Kentucky. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark,
Mee ride, and Mayor Pro Tem Trevathan (3).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the letter from The lo'an's Club Protestii
tearing dorm the Market House, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Clark, icBride and :ayor Protem Trevathan (3).
Commissioner Clark, offered the following motion: I move that the SETTLE1,E::T:
CITY REFUSE ACCOUNTS - May 31, 1956, prepared and submitted by the Paducah Water Works
be received and filed.
I further move that the check in the amount of 110,044.30 be turned over to the
City Treasurer to be deposited in the General Fund. Adopted on call of the Roll,
'leas, Commissioners Clark, McBride and Mayor Pro Tem Trevathan (3).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the claim of Mlrs. E. R. Lemon, 3004
Clark Street, Paducah, Kentucky, against the City of Paducah in the sum of '.750.00
for injuries caused on or about January 15, 1956, by an alleged defect in the sidevralk
on Adams Street, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to issue a check .for said amount after having received a full
and complete release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark,

Commissioner Clara: offered motion that Charles A. Williams be appointed as a
fireran in the fire department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky at the beginning salary
of 6245.00 per ionth, effective July 1, 1956, provided that by such time lie furnishes
the City ;•Langer, at his ovm expense, a satisfactory medical report as to his physical
condition, including an electrocardiogram. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,

Co.maissioner ::cvride offered motion that Marion Vick Garrett be and he is hereby
e:ploycd as a laborer in the refuse division of the City of Paducah at an hourly rate
o, ;1.17: per hour for the first six months and +"1.25 per hour thereafter. Such
employ; ent to be. -in on July 1, 1956. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioner

Co=issioner iTcBride offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, file
and approve idemorandum of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of
New 'iork to W. T. dilkinson and the City of Paducah effective until September 14, 1956.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, McBride and Mayor Pro Toil.

ment on improper parking and drunk under the wheel, be received and filed. Adopted on

He further moved that such request be granted and that he be, and he is noir
appointed as Fire Alarm Operator at a salary of ;;255.00 per month, effective July 1,
1956. Adopted on call of the moll, Yeas, Co3!m!issioners Clark, 1•7cBride and Payor

Mayor Pro Tera Trevathan offered motion that the letter of George I•;vers, Jr. of
Apri119, 1956 to Ernest P. Hannin, Chief of the Paducah Fire Department at that time,
requesting a reduction in rate of Fire Alarm Operator at a salary of 12$5.00 per month
to Grade A Private in the fire department at a salary of ,;1265.00 per month, be received
and filed.
He further moved that such request be granted and that the said George Myers, Jr.
be nou appointed as a Grade A Private at the salary of 1265.00 per month, effective
July 1,1956. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, L;ellrido
and Kayor Pro Tem Trevathan (3).
Kayor Pro Tem Trevathan offered motion that the check in the amount of 09.60 for
dead refuse accounts collected durinr, May 1956 be turned over to the City Treasurer to
be deposited in the General Fund. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Clark,McBride and Kayor Pro Tem Trevathan (3).
Payor Pro Tem Trevathan offered motion that Edwin H. Overstreet, an engineer
in the Fire Department of the City of Paducah, be promoted to Lieutenant in said
department at a salary of '02$5.00 per month, effective July 1, 1956. Adopted on
Call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, McBride and Kayor Pro Tera Trevathan (3).
Mayor Pro Tem Trevathan offered motion that Hilton E. heater be appointed as a
fireman in the fire department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky at the beLinn:ing salary
of :,121.5.00 per month, effective July 4, 1956, provided that by such time he furnishes
the City tanager, at his own expense, a satisfactory medical report as to his physical
condition, including an electrocardiogram. Adopted on call of the Roll, Ycas,

Layor Pro Tem Trevathan offered motion that the Board of Conaaissioners receive,
file and approve liability insurance pol3.cy issued by the Fidelity and Casualty Company
of ;:err York to the City of Paducah covering work done by C. 0. ::iller and Clifton
Johnson d/b/a ;'filler & Johnson for a pariod of one year from June 25, 1956. Adopted on
