At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 1, 1955, Mayor
r,
Pro Ten Jacobs presided in the absence of Mayor Cherry and upon call of the Roll the
following answered to their names: Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Pro
Tem Jacobs (4).
I•;ayor Pro Tom Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for
Ocbober 25, 1955 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the
City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs (4).
Petition '
Commission Hannin offered the following motion:
Fairmont Add
Sewers
I move that the petition signed by Charles L. Hoskins, Jr. and other resident:
in the Fairmony Addition, requesting the installation of a sanitary sewer be constructer
on Goodman and Fairmont Streets from Division Street to 30th Street be received and file
I further move that said petition be referred to the City Engineer for
complete investigation, giving an approximate estimate of the cost.
It is understood that petitioners request the city to install this sewer at
their expense. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes,
Riggs and Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs (4).
Fire hydrant', Commissioner Hughes offered the following motio n: It appears from a

letter dated October 26, 1955, filed by the Paducah Water Works that they recommend the
installation of a fire hydrant at the city limits line on Central Avenue at the alley
between Mimosa Lane and 40th Street, as requested by City Manager, Lloyd C. Emery,
to provide fire protection to the adjacent property.
I therefore move that the letter 8f the Paducah i'lat-er Works be received and
filed and that the Paducah plater 41orks, through its Board of Commissioners, be author-
ized to install a fire hydrant at the city limits line on Central Avenue at the
alley between Minora Lane and 40th Street.
I further move that the adoption of this resolution be considered as an
agreement on the part of the City of Paducah to pay the fire hydrant rental, as provided
in the franchise, on the .fire hydrant referred to in the letter of the Paducah hater
"lorks, said rental to begin when said fire hydrant has been installed. Adopted on
