City of Paducah_ October lam, 1955
At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on 9ctober 4, 1955, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for September 27,
1955 be tiraived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk, be
approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas; Commissioners Hannin, Hughes
Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5).
D.W.FallsCommissioner Hannin offered motion that the Indemnifying Agreement executed
Ind. Agreement
John McKnight by D. W. Falls Construction Company with American Automobile Insurance Company as
Claim
Surety in the sum of X1,000 indemnifying the City from any loss resulting from the
damage claim of Mr. & Mrs. John McKnight, be received and filed. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5).
Extend Broad v Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the City Manager investigate the
Street, etc.
feasibility of extending Broad Street over to:the Beltline Highway, also Olive and
Green Streets.
He also moved that the City Manager instruct the City Engineer to investigate
as to the possible cost of extending Paxton Street across the railroad tracks to the
Beltline Highway, and that the Corporation Counsel be instructed to.advise the Board ss
to what steps to take to secure the Railroad and Statefs participation in the cost.

Bond E.B. ,/ Commisioner Hughes offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive,

file and approve bond of E. B. Douglas in the amount of x;1000 dated September 26,

Release Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the release executed by D. W. Falls

board, after being first duly sworn to faithfully discharge the duties of their
office, be directed to meet at the City Hall on the 17th day of October, 1955,
to elect from among themselves a Chairman and a Clerk, to notify the City Auditor
that they are ready to receive the assessment books and to then proceed with the
equalization of assessments on all real and personal property within the city subject
to taxation in accordance with the provisions of law, the members of said board to
receive for their services the amount fixed by ordinance. Adopted on call of the
