At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on September 27, 1955,
Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for September 13
and September 20, 1955 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetino5as prepared by
the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
/Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5).
Water line Commissioner Hughes offered the following motion: B. F. Harwood, Jr., E. D.
Goodman Drive
Cunningham, Perry A. Grief, C. B. Marshall and D. L. Tucker file with the Mayor and
Board of City Commissioners a petition to authorize the laying of a 611 water main
along Goodman Drive from Lone Oak Road in an easterly direction, approximately 950 fed;
Petitioners, B. F. Harwood, Jr., E. D. Cunningham, Perry A. Grief, C. B. Mar-
shall and D. L. Tucker represent that each of the above named parties is the oiaier
of respective property referred to in said petition and that property adjoins the
street mentioned thereon. The above named petitioners represent that they have
houses on their lots and that they will connect to the 6" water main when it is
installed. The above petitioners are sufficient to meet the requirements for water
main extension to the extent of 350 -feet.
Of the 950 -feet of water main petitioned, 600 -feet is taken up by property of
Fernwood Homes, Inc. and is being supplied by the Lone Oak Road water main.
It appears from the endorsement by the Board of Commissioners Water Works that
the applicants have complied with all rules and regulations of said Paducah "ater
Works as approved by the Board of Commissioners of City of Paducah, I therefore move
that the petition of B. F. Harwood, Jr., etc., be accepted and approved and that the
Board of Commissioners of Nater Works be authorized to install a 6" main along
Goodman Drive from Lone Oak Road approximately 950 -feet east.
I further move that the adoption of this resolution and the granting of the
request contained in said application be considered as an agreement on the part of the
City of Paducah to pay the fire hydrant and water main rental, as provided in the
franchise, on the pipe line referred to in the petition and in this motion. Said
rental to begin when said water main has been laid and water provided for on the
above street referred to above. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners

construct and operate a community antenna system in Paducah, be received and filed.

Election Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the Report of the City Primary Election

Grover C. Commissioner Hughes offered motion that the Contract between the City of Paducah

Garbage Commissioner Jacobs offered the following motion: I move that the SETTLEMENT:

August 1955 CITY REFUSE ACCOUNTS _ August 31, 1955 prepared and submitted by the Paducah Nater Works
be received and filed.
I further move that the check in the amount of '9,792.1$ be turned over to the
City Treasurer to be deposited in the General Fund. Adopted on call of the Roll,

Settle Claim Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the claim of Jesse Wilson, Jr. against
Jesse Milson
Jr. the City in the sum of '50.00 for personal injuries received by him when stepping in an
open manhole near the intersection of Joe Clifton Drive and Monroe Street on or about
September 21, 1955, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, direct d to issue
a check of the City to the said Jesse Wilson, Jr. after securing a full and complete
release. Adopted on call of the Roll,,Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs,

Bond of Commissioner Riggs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, file
