At a Regular .`•Ieeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.I•I. on January 25, 1955, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Comnissioners Hannin, Hughes and Mayor Cherry (3), Commissioners Jacobs and Riggs
being absent (2).
&ayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the i•iinutes for January 18,
1955 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be
approved as iritten. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin,
/Hughes and i-.ayor Cherry (3).
Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the petition of Roger F. Christie
and wife, Opal 11. Christie, for permission to make one 3/4" connection to the 2�
privately owned water pipe line owned by Loren M. Jones so as to furnish water to one
residence only to be constructed upon Lots i#24 and 25 in Block #2 of Thurman Minerva
Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, fronting 100.02 feet on the west side of
South 42nd Street (Cardinal Lane) in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the
corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the
request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said
petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes and
b`ayor Cherry (3) .
Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve
the sale by the City of Paducah to Emma I•Iiller of Grave Noe 58 in Block No. S of the
Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to
execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes and Player Cherry (3).
Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the city of a Resolution adopted by th
City Council of the City of Metropolis, Illinois on January 10, 1955 expressing appreciation
and gratitude to the City of Paducah for sending fire equipment to their aid on January
7, 1955, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Hannin, Hushes and Mayor Cherry DU
Cor...issioner Hughes offered motion that the claim of Attic J. Barnwell against
the Cita for injuries suffered by him in stepping in a manhole at 4th and Jefferson
Gtrzets on Lecerber 15, 1954, in the sum of .130.00, be allowed and that the City
'treasurer bc• and he is hereby directed to issue a check in said amount to tine said
Artie J. varmiell after aocuring a lull and complete release. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Year, Cozmissioners r'annin, Hughes and Mayor Cherry (3).

Kayor Cherry offered motion that the contract entered into between the City of
Paducah and C. N. Baker & Son for the purchase of two (2) 388 Oldsmobile 4 -door
sedans, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Cormissioners
Hannin, Hughes and Mayor Cherry (3).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the covenant executed by Xavier Yopp and
wife concerning the use of a portion of property on the southeast corner of Park
Avenue and Thompson Avenue for residential purposes only, be received, recorded and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes and Mayor
Cherry (3).
Commissioner Hannin offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
PROHIBITING LOITERING IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY AND PROVIDING PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION THEREOF", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Hannin, Hughes and I•iayor Cherry (3).
Commissioner Hughes offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "All ORDINAVCE
GRANTING PEiiidISSION TO IV. R. YATES AND/OR HIS ASSIGNS TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE AND KAINTAIN
TELEVISION SIGNAL CABLES, LINES AND APPURTEIIA14CES UPON, ALONG, ACROSS, OVER APID UNDER
THE STREETS, ALLEYS AND PUBLIC MYS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING
THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON IIHICH SUCH PEF1.aSSION IS GRANTED", be adopted., Adopted o

On motion the meeting adjourned.
