Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Ped.c.h June 61 1950
At a Regular Meeting of the board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7;30 P.M. on June 6, 1950, Mayor Johnston pre-
sided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Hannin, Jacobs, Sims, Thomas and Mayor Johnston (5)
Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read.
Paducah Battery

Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the petition signed by employees of the
opposing
payroll tax
Paducah Battery Company opposing the payroll tax ordinance be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs, 31ms, Thomas and Mayor

Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the letter of Chas. I. Boyd, Sr., re-

Hannin offered motion that the recommendations of the City tanager

and the Chief of Police relative to the need for a street light on Clay Street between

16th and 17th streets be received and filed and that the City Manager be directed to
request the Kentucky Utilities Company to install a street light at that location.

Loading Zone 4-
Commissioner Thomas offered motion that the letter of Lir. Tom ;iilson for IVilson's

zone be provided for the use of said stores on the south side of Broadway between 3rd
and 4th streets be received and filed.
It appearing from an ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September

l7th, 1925, that the Police Department is authorized to determine the exact location of
loading zones within the city, and the Chief of Police may lay off such zones as may be

necessary provided no more than one-half of the total curb length of any block in the
central traffic district is used for that purpose;
I therefore move that the request of said stores for a loadin zone at the locatioiu
stated be referred to Col. Laricley Graham, Chief' of Police. Adoptod on call of the Roll

Loading one Commissioner Thomas offered the following motion: Albritton Restaurant having

ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September 17, 1925, that the Police
Department is authorized to determine the exact location of loading zones within the cit,
and the Chief of Police may lay off such zones as may be necessary provided no more that
one-half of the total curb length of any block in the central traffic district is used
for that purpose;
I therefore move that the request of said Albrittonts Restqurant for a loading
zone at the above location be referred to Col. Barkley Graham, Chief of Police. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs, Sims, Thomas and Mayor
Johnston (5).
Loading Zone Commissioner Thomas offered the following motion: I move that the letter of ml`.
