At a Regular ;Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.bi. on October 27, 1953, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5).
i•;ayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for October 13,
1953 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be
approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark., Jacobs,
Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: I. Robert C. Cherry, Mayor of t
City of Paducah, pursuant to the authority vested in me under the provisions of KRS
96.760, hereby appoint Glenn Lovern, the City Manager, to serve as the fifth member of
the Electric Plant Board of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and to serve as the fifth
member of said board until the termination of his employment as City Manager.

received and referred to the Paducah Planning and Zoning; Commission for its recommendation,

Commissioner Clark offered motion that the contract entered into between the
City of Paducah and I•Tilam Motorcycle Shop for the purchase of one (1) Standard Police
I•fotorcycle, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, I•Iorrva and Mayor Cherry (5)
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the report of the Police Department
concerning the location of street lights at the intersections of Bloom Avenue and
iiashington Boulevard and Bloom Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard be received and filed
and that the City Manager be authorized to request the Kentucky Utilities Company to
install said lights. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs,
Johnston, I•Iorrow and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the following bids submitted for the
purchase of property oimed by the City of Paducah on the Kenmar Road, be received and
filed:

Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the City Manager be directed to have an
investigation made as to the need of a street light at 27th and Old Mayfield Road.
He further moved that if upon investigation it is found that said light- is neede
that the City I•lanager instruct the Kentucky Utilities Com pany to make such installatio .

Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the application of Harley L. Lawrence
for permission to pick up garbage only, no refuse, from the Riverside Hospital and
Western Baptist hospital to be transported outside the: city for feeding purposes, be
granted for a period of six (6) months upon payment of the fee provided by ordinance,
and that the City I3anager be, and he is hereby, authorized to issue such permit.

Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the letter from Earle T. Shoup,
Aoziztant Corporation Counsel, regarding the Rudelle Green case, be received and filed.

Liability policy Commissioner Morrow offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, Tile

Refund taxes to, Commissioner Morrow offered motion that the City Treasurer be authorized to

taxes on property sold by it to the Commonwealth of Kentucky on november 19, 1952 !
for Armory purposes; and that the City Treasurer be authorized to exonerate the October
