May__12„x.953 _ At a Regular "eeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on May 12, 1953, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for April 23, 1953 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written... Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5). Close "Alley Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file 21st S 'B" the petition of residents in the vicinity of 21st Street, 'B" Street and Wheeler Avenue requesting the closing of a ten foot strip of ground, designated as an alley, from "B" street to "C" street between and running parallel with South 21st Street and Wheeler Avenue; and also the copy of the motion passed by the Planning and Zoning Commission recommending that said alley be closed. He further moved that the Corporation Counsel be directed to prepare for introduction at the next meeting an ordinance providing for the closing of said alley. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Johnston and Morrow (3), Nays, Co:cmissioner Jacobs and Mayor Cherry (2). Water Mayor Cherry offered motion that the petition of James G. Hamilton, for per - connection Schneidman mission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the privately owned water pipe line on Road Schneidman Road to the Schneidman Road Water Line Number 2 for the purpose of furnishing water to one residence only upon Lot #6 Thompsonts Sub -Division, which lot fronts 50 feet on the West side of Schneidman Road in McCracken County, Kentucky and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Water `J Mayor Cherry offered motion that the petition of Moss Motors, Inc. for permission Connection N 41st St to make one 3/4 inch connection to the Li, inch privately owned water pipe line ormed by Loren M. Jones so as to furnish water to one residence to be constructed upon lots 6 an 7 in Block G of Gregory Heights Addition to the City of Paducah, fronting 92 feet on North 313t Street in McCracken County, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Nolan & Sons pay Gus Barris addressed to the City Manager in the amount of $11,900.00 for services rendered by Gus Harris, also the letter from the Paducah Municipal Hospital Commission by its Chairman, approving the payment of said account be received and filed, and that payment thereof be approved and the City Treasurer be directed to pay same from funds in the Riverside Hospital Building Account. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrav and Mayor Cherry (5). E. Reed Company protecting the City of Paducah with respect to work done by John A. Eastwood, Jr d/b/a Eastwood Plumbing & Heating Company for a period of one year from April 15, 1953; also Memorandum of Insurance issued by the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to f I W. E. I Rushing Add Commissioner Johnston offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the j Grave to Aution Cork sale by the City of Paducah to Aution Cork of brave No. 124 in Block No. 8 of the Rushing, Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave.
