At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Ball, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.i-i. on April 28, 1953, Mayor Cherry pre-
sided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5)
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for April 14 and ?.3,
1953 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be
approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs,
Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the petition of L. W. Estes and wife,
Eliza -T. Estes, for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the privately owned
water pipe line of the Husbands Road Community plater Company for the purpose of fur-
nishing water to one residence only upon a lot owned by peritioners fronting 85 feet on South
side of Homewood Avenue in McCracken County, °entucky, and outside the corporate limits
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned
for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry ( ).

Commissioner Jacobs offered the following motion: It appears from a letter dated
April 27_, 1953, filed by the Commissioners of Water Works, that they recommend the.
construction of water mains as listed below in order to improve the distribution system
of the Plater Works and to provide better fire protection to the adjacent property and to
the new subdivision known as River Oaks Sub -division:
I therefore more that the letter of the Commissioners of Water Works be received and
filed and that the Paducah 'later Works, through its Board of Commissioners be authorized
to construct water mains as follows:
Approximately 184 feet of 6" .-later main on Pines Road from the end of the propose
extension of 6" main (approved by the City in a contract between the Paducah Water Works
and the Shelby Construction Company) to North 34th Street.
Approximately 241 of 6" main .from Pines Road to the end of the existing main on
th ;4th Street.
I further move that the adoption of this resolution bo -considered as an agreement
