Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah October 11,, 1952
At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on October ly., 1952, Mayor Cherry
I' presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners

Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read.
Water line ii Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the petition of F. i[. McGraw & Company
F.H.McGraw
Buckner Lane for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the one inch privately owned water pipe
line owned by A. E. Cole so as to furnish water to one residence on petitioner's property
on the North side of Buckner Lane outside the city limits of Paducah be received and file
and that the request in said petition be granted in accordance with the terms set forth
therein. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston,
Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5).

that each of the above named parties is the owner of the respective property referred to

in said petition and that said property adjoins the street mentioned therein; and said
petitioners petition the Mayor and Board of Commissioners to authorize the laying of a 60
water main along Ficklin Avenue from end of existing main to Harding Avenue and along

I Harding Avenue from Ficklin "venue to Roosevelt Boulevard, a distance of approximately
900 feet.
It appears from the endorsement by the Board of Commissioners of the Paducah Water
'rforks that said request and petition complies with the franchise provisions and require-
ments.

I therefore move that the petition of Margie McKinney and others named herein be
received and filed and that the Paducah Water Works, through its Board of Commissioners,
be authorized to lay said six inch main along Ficklin Avenue from end of existing main
to Harding Avenue and along Harding Avenue from Ficklin Avenue to Roosevelt Boulevard
a distance of approximately 900 feet, so as to provide water service to the lots abutting
Ficklin venue from end of existing main to Harding Avenue and along Harding Avenue from
Ficklin Avenue to Roosevelt Boulevard, a distance of approximately 900 feet.
I further move that the adoption of this resolution and the granting of the reques
contained in said petition be considered as an agreement on the part of the City of
Paducah to pay the fire hydrant and water main rental, as provided in the franchise on
the pipe line and connection referred to in the petition, said rentals to begin when said
water rain has been laid and water provided for on said Ficklin Avenue from end of existil
rain to Hardir.Z Avenue and along Harding Avenue from Ficklin "venue to Roosevelt Boulevarf},

a petition to authorize the laying of a 6" water main along Harding Avenue from Roosevelt
Boulevard to Washington Boulevard, a distance of approximately 440 feet, and on Vfashingtoc
Boulevard from Harding Avenue in an easterly direction a distance of approximately 600
Commissioner Clark offered the following motion: Robert Galveston Stevens and

Petitioners, Robert Galveston Stevent and wife, Puryear Stevens, Henry C. Jones,
Birdie Redmon, Lillie Uilliams, John, Ruth and Florence Coffee, Lincoln Heights Church,
Mark !i. Stubblefield and vrife, Sue Apple, Leroy Apple, Wallace Davenport, Ida Perry,
Hassie Pryor, Lonnie Ray and Bill and Hassie Pryor, represent that each of the above
named parties is the ovmer of respective property referred to in said petition and that
said property adjoins the said streets mentioned thereon. The above named petitioners
are sufficient to meet the requirements for water main extension to the extent of 550 fee
The petitioners, Lincoln Heights Community Committee, have deposited mith the
Paducah later :forks the estimated cost of laying 450 feet of 611 water main which represen
the balance of the main petitioned for exclusive of street intersections. This property
is undeveloped property.

and that the Board of Commissioners of the Paducah Water Works be authorized to execute

the agreement for the laying of said extension and that the Board of Commissioners of
Paducah Water Works be authorized to lay a 61, main along Harding Avenue from Roosevelt
Boulevard to 'dashington Boulevard, a distance of approximately 440 feet, and on Washingto:
Boulevard from Harding Avenue in an easterly direction, a distance of approximately 600
feet, a total distance of approximately 1,040 feet.
I further move that the adoption of this resolution and the granting of the

Close Court Ave Commissioner Johnston offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and

respectively, approving payment to certain contractors in connection with Riverside
Hospital construction be received and filed.
He further moved that the following accounts in favor of Contractors on the

Treasurer out of the Riverside Hospital Construction Account as follows:
(1) Payment to Seth E. Giem & Associates in the amount of -10,212.30

the year 1953, that the members of said board, after being first duly sworn to faith-
fully discharge the duties of their office, be directed to meet at the City Hall on the
15th day of October, 1952, to elect from among themselves a chairman and a clerk, to
notify the City Auditor that they are ready to receive the assessment books and to them
proceed with the equalization of assessments on all real and personal property within the
