HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 22, Page 487, October 7, 1952Proceedings of Board of Commissioners No.L'q7-- -- - - — - - City of Paducah October 252 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.P•I. on October 7, 1952, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Clark, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Jacobs being absent. 1 Minutes of t he previous meetingswere adopted as read. Water line V I' Commissioner Clark offered motion that the petition of G. B. Hearn and wife, Minnich Ave Ethel Hearn, residing on Minnich Avenue in b;cCracken County, outside the corporate limit of Paducah, Kentucky, for authority to lay and construct a water line for the purpose of providing water service to a residence building located on the property of petitioners, be received and filed and that the request in said petition be granted in accordance with the terms set forth therein. It is understood, however, in granting the privileges sought in said petition neither the City of Paducah nor the Commissioners of Plater Works shall be obligated to buy said pipe line or any part thereof, and no such obligation shall be contained or be implied hereafter should the territory to be served by the water line to be laid under the authority herein requested be taken into or made a part of the City of Paducah. It is further understood that the petitioners trill subscribe for water service at the rates now or hereafter prescribed for water service to consumers outside the city limits of Paducah and subject in all respects to the rules and regulations of the City of Paducah or its Commissioners of 'dater Works which may be now in force of therein after enacted. I; Later Lit} Commissioner Morrow offered motion that the petition of James Hollowell and wife,N 36th ✓✓ 9 Reba Hollowell, for permission to connect a 3/4 inch water pipe line to the 14 inch privately owned water pipe line of R. M. 'sell and to extend said line into the property of the petitioners located on the West side of North 36th Street in McCracken County Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed, and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions contained in said petition. Dause and wife, Evadean Smith Ave. Dause, for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the 2 inch privately owned i water pipe line owned by Hub Smith (said 2 inch line being connected to the S9oodlawn- i Oakdale Community Water Company line on Oaks Road) so as to furnish water to one resi- dence upon Lot 36 in Smith Subdivision fronting on Smith Avenue and owned by the peti- tioners, said lot being in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, be received and filed, and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. �j It is understood, however, that in granting the privilege sought in said i petition neither the City of Paducah nor the Commissioners of [tater Works shall be oblig ted to buy said pipe line, or any part thereof, and no such obligation shall be obtained or be implied hereafter should the territory to be served by the water line to be laid r under the authority herein requested be taken into or made a part of the City of Paducah It is further understood that the petitioners will subscribe for water service at the rates now or hereafter prescribed for water service to consumers outside the city limits and subject in all respects to the rules and regulations of the City of Paducah or its Commissioners of dater Works which may be now in force or hereafter enacted. H. Conrad Building Company as set out in contract between Paducah Water Works and PI. H. Conrad Building Company dated the 5th day of December, 1951. Sears and his wife, Dixie Ave nlizabeth Sears, owners of property fronting 65 feet on Dixie Avenue in i•icCracken County, Kentucky, outside the corporate limits of Paducah, Kentucky, for authority to lay and construct a water line for the purpose of providing water service to a residence on said property of petitioners be received and filed and that the request in said petition be granted in accordance with the terms set forth therein. Park Board Commissioner Clark offered motion that a letter dated September 30, 1952 from request v5, 000 Louic lirchoff, member of the Paducah Park Board, to Mayor Cherry, concerning an allowanc of ;5,000 for the building of a pavilion at Y.olb Park and the rewiring of the swimming pool at iicU a Park, be received and filed. No. -- - - 4111. _ Proceedings of Board of Commissions _ City of Paducah_ October 7, 1952 j Liability Commissioner Johnston offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, policy B.B.DeBruhl i rile and approve Certificate of Insurance issued by the Connecticur Indemnity Company protecting the City of Paducah with respect to work done by Frank Ingram is B. B. DeBruhl j. d/b/a B. B. DeBruhl Contractors until August 18, 1952. Oscar Talmage regarding refund of city auto license to Edgar R. Tatum be received and Tatum filed. Since, according to Mr. Talmage's letter, Mr. Tatum does not live or work in the City, I further move that refund to him of the amount of :1'14.38 paid for a city auto license be approved. Repeal Commissioner Morrow offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive J Mesolution Hospital and file copy of a letter from Chapman 8: Cutler dated September 4th, also copy of a Account letter from Chester A. Lucas, Stein Bros & Boyce, dated September 8, 1952 regarding repeal of a Resolution adopted by this Board on August 26, 1952 creating a Riverside Hospital Account know as the Special Construction Account. Bldg. permit/ Commissioner I•Iorrow offered the following motion: I move that the letter of refund to Edla Dunbar Oscar Talmage recommending refund of Building Permit No. 1613 in the amount of g'28.00 to firs. Edla Dunbar be received and filed. Since it appears that said building permit will not be used, I further move that the amount of ','128.00 be refunded to the said Airs. Edla Dunbar. Hamilton & J.A.Hamilton Hospital Associates for payment of certain fees and expenses, in the amount of ;143.17 along with a letter from the Chairman of the Board of Paducah Municipal Hospital Commissioners approvin,g payment of said account be received and filed, and that payment of said fees and expenses in the amount of :'?143.17 be approved and the City 'Treasurer is hereby ordered and directed to pay said sum to James A.
