Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Ccmmissicners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston and Mayor Cherry ((t), Commissioner Morrow being
absent (1).
Notices ofl Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of Notice of Called

Water main Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Cornell Development Company is

the owner of property located on Cornell Street from the Mayfield Road towards Sputh
28th Street for a distance of approximately 3601, all of which property is presently
vaeant and said owner desires that an extension of the existing water train be made
so as to provide water service to the property above referred to.

It appears from the endorsement by the Board of Commissioners of Water
Works that the applicant has complied with all rules and regulations of the said Paduca:
Water Works as ppproved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah. I
therefore move that the application of said Cornell Development Company be accepted and
approved and that the Board of Commissioners of the Paducah 'dater Works be authorized t
execute the agreement for the laying of said extension and that the Board of Commission
ers of Paducah Water Works be authorized to lay a 6" main along Cornell Street from
the end of the existing 6" main to be Mayfield Road, a distance of approximately 360 fe
I further move that the adoption of this resolution and the granting of the request
contained in said application be considered as an agreement on the part of the City
of Paducah to pay the fire hydrant and water main rental, as provided in the franchise,
on the pipe lines referred to in the petition and in this motion. Said rental to
be,;in when said water main has been laid and water provided for on the street above
referred to. Adopted on call. of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs,

Nothing in the granting of this petition shall obligate the City of Paducah or
its Commissioners of Water Works to guarantee pressure or service, and said water
service may be discontinued through said pipe line at any time when in the judgment
of its Commissioners of Water Works the furnishing of water to the petitioners or
their successors in ownership of the property owned may interfere in any wise with
the adequate supply and distribution of water inside the corporate limits of the City
of Paducah. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners *Clark, Jacobs, Johnston
and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry offered the following motion; Cornell Development Company is the
owner of property located on Alabama Street from South 28th Street to a point approx-
imately 9001 South of South 28th Street, all of which property is presently vacant and
said pwner desires that an extension of the existing water main be made so as to provid,
water service to the property above referred to.
It appears from the endorsement by the Board of Commissioners of 'later Works thit
the applicant has complied with all rules and regulations of the said Paducah Water
Works as approved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah. I therefore move
that the application of said Cornell Development Company be accepted and approved and
that the Board of Commissioners of the Paducah Water Works be authorized to execute the'
agreement for the laying of said extension and that the Board of Commissioners of Paduc1h
Water Works be. authorized to lay a 611 main along Alabama Street from South 288h Street I
to a point approximately 900 feet South of South 28th Street.
I further move that the adoption of this resolution and the granting of the
request contained in said application be considered as an agreement on the part of thel
City of Paducah to pay the fire hydrant and water main rental., as provided in the fran-
chise, on the pipe lines referred to in the petition and in this motion. Said rental
to begin when said water main has been laid and water provided for on the street above
referred to. Adopted on call of the Roll, Teas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs,
Johnston, bimaxew and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Clerk offered motion that the letter of Oscar Talmage, City
Treasurer, regarding refund of Building Permit No. 1760 to John W. Watters be received
and filed.
He further moved that the City Treasurer be directed to refund said permit.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston and liayor
Cherry (4).
Ccmmissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive,
file and approve liability insurance policy issued by the Coal Operators Casualty
Company protecting the City of Paducah with respect to work done by Pryor Wooley
for a period o!' one year from June 4, 1952; also Certificate of Insurance issued by
the New Ar..steriar. Casualty Ccmpany to I. If. Gregory and the Kentucky Utilitic:.^, Company

KU Bond Commissioner Clark offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE

votes ORDERING AN ELECTION BY THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO BE
r HELD ON THE REGULAR ELECTION DAY, NOVEMBER 4TH, 1952, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
TO DETERMINE THE QUESTION WHETHER THE CITY OF PADUCAH SHALL PURCHASE FROM THE KENTUCKY
UTILITIES COMPANY ITS ELECTRIC UTILITY PLANT IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AT THE
PRICE OF 1`11,978,817, AND SHALL CONSTRUCT NECESSARY ADDITIONAL FACILITIES AND OPERATE A
