Proceedings of Board or' Commissioners City of Paducah April 8 1952

At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on April 8, 1952, Mayor Cherry pre-
sided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Clark, Jacobs, borrow and Rayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Johnston being absent (1)
Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as read.
Water line Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the petition of Edgar Ligon and wife,
Berger Road
Lindell Ford Ligon, residing on the Berger Road in 14cCracken County, outside the torpor
ate limits of Paducah, Ky. for authority to lay and construct a water line for the
purpose of providing water service to the building located on the property of petition-
ers be received and filed and that the request in said petition be granted in accordant
with the terms set forth therein.
It is understood, however, in granting the privilege sought in said petition neither
the City of Paducah nor the Commissioners of Water Works shall be obligated to buy said
pipe lire or any part thereof, and no such obligation shall be contained or be implied
hereafter should the territory to be served by the water line to be laid under the
authority herein requested be taken into or made a part of the City of Paducah.
It is further understood that the petitioners will subscribe for water service at
the rates now or hereafter prescribed for water service to consumers outside the city
limits of Paducah and subject in all respects to the rules and regulations of the City
of Paducah or its Commissioners of Water Works which may be now in force or hereinafter
enacted.
Nothing in the granting of this petition shall obligate the City of Paducah or its
Co:rmissioners of Water Works to guarantee pressure or service, and said water service
may be discontinued through said pipe line at any time when in the judgment of its
Commissioners of Water Works the furnishing of water to the petitioners or their
successors in ownership of the property owned may interfere in any wise with the adequat

Mayor Cherry offered motion that the petition of Leeper Smith and wife, Carrie
Smith, residing on the Hovekamp Road in McCracken County, outside the corporate limits
of Paducah, Ky. for authority to lay and construct two water lines for the purpose of
providing water service to two buildings located on the property of petitioners be
lreceived and filed and that the request in said petition be granted in accordance with
the terms set forth therein.
It is understood, however, in granting the privilege sought in said petition
neither the City of Paducah nor the Commissioners of Water Works shall be obligated
to buy said pipe line or any part thereof, and no such obligation shall be contained
or be implied hereafter should the territory to be served by the water line to be laid

James A. Commissioner Jacobs offer4d motion that the Board of Commissioners receive an

Hospital file the motion adopted by the City of Paducah Municipal Hospital Commission on April 7,

travel and 1952, recommending the payment of $118.40 to James A. Hamilton and ,Associates for travel
maintenance
expense and maintenance expense in connection with their building consultation services on the
alterations and additions to the Riverside Hospital.
He further moved that said account be paid from funds appropriated to the Cit
of Paducah by the Housing and Home Finance Agency and that the City Manager and the Cit
Treasurer be authorized to draw a check for $119.40 upon the Riverside Hospital plan
H preparation account, said check to be made payable to James A. Hamilton and Assoiciates.

Mayor Cherry offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file a
certified copy of the motion adopted by the City of Paducah Municipal Hospital Commissi
on April 7, 1952, approving the final plans submitted by Thomas J. Nolan and Sons for
construction of the addition to the Riverside Hospital and recommending that the City
of Paducah submit to the Housing and Home Finance Agency its reprt that said plan pre-
paration has been approved.
He further moved that a certified copy of the motion of said hospital commission

requesting the city to execute all forms necessary for securing the balance due to cover
the cost of advance plans be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry offered the following motion:
I move that this Board receive, file and approve the bond executed by Roger F.
Christie as Principal and the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, as Surety,
in the amount of $2,000 dated April 3, 1952• Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (4)•
Commissioner Clark offered motion that a resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
FIXING THE COUPON INTEREST RATES AND PROVIDING FOR SALE AND AWARD OF 3500,000 WATERWORKS
REVENUE BONDS, SERIES OF 1952, AND Ap?,,ROVINC AND AUTHORIZING THE AGREEMENT OF SUCH
SALE AND AWARD", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark,
