At a Regular `fleeting of the board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners'
Chamber at the City Rall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on January 21, 1947,

Commissioner Williams offered the following motion: I move that the petition

of Loren M.. Jones for permission to extend a privately owned water line on 42nd Street
and Vinerva Lane be granted subject to the limitations and conditions contained in
said petition and that the request of petitioners Albert R. Otto and wife, Mina E.
Otto; .F. E. Gilliham.and wife, . Mary, J. Gillihan; Ruth Oehlschlaeger, and Charles
A. ::ahl and wife, Louise M. ;Sahl be granted subject to the limitations and conditions

Nothing contained in the granting of this request shell be construed asa

guarantee of pressure or water service on the part of the City of Paducah and nothing
in the granting of said request shall now or hereafter be construed as an obligation
or agreement on the part of the City of Paducah or its Commissioners of hater ':forks
to purchase or acquire said water line or any part thereof or to maintain same; no
such obligation shall arise should said territory where said privately owned pipe line
lies be annexed to or taken into the corporate limits of the city of Paducah.

Commissioner Williams offered motion that the Loard of Commissioners receive and
file the two letters written by the City Manager, i.!r. Chas. A. valliams, with
reference to payment by the City of Paducah of a portion of the richt of way cost
to be incurred in connection with the construction of the new belt line highway,
and that the City i2anager be requested to include in his budget for the year 1947
an appropriation in an amount sufficient to pay one-third of the cost of purchasing
rights of way required for the construction of said belt line highway. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Friedlander, maims, Villiams and N:ayor Seaton
(4).
Commissioner Sims offered motion that a copy of the letter of Paducah Central
Labor Union dated January 20th, requesting that sufficient revenue for payment of
salaries to permit the employees of the city to "maintain a fair, decent standard
of living" be provided for by a fair and impartial equalization of real estate
assessments, be referred to the board of Equalization for their consideration.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Friedlander, Sims, Williams and
Mayor Seaton (4).
Commissioner Friedlander offered the following motion: Mr. Charles Pdbaley having
requested the adoption of an ordinance to permit Five minute parking of vehicles
at 114 North Sixth Street;
I move that the request be referred to the City Manager, that an investigation Le
made by the police department for the purpose of determining whether pal -Icing of
vehicles should be permitted for periods of five minutes at that location, and that
the City C.anager submit his recommendations to the board of Commissioners at the next
regular meeting. Adopted on call of we Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Friedlander-,

On motion the meeting adjourned.
