Proceedings of Board of Oommissionors City of Paducah Povenber 29, 1949
At a Regular Meoting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the Commission
Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.C-. on November 29, 1949,
Mayor Johnston presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their name
Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Mayor- Johnston (4).
Yinutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read.

Salary to continuation of the salary of Rudelle Green, Elevator Operator, through December 31,

Bill -cut weeds,/I, Commissioner Abell offered motion that the Board receive and filo the letter of

November 25, 1949, from the City :,anagen and the attached copy of a proposed bill whack
would authorize a city to clear weeds, grass, underbrush and treos on vacant land if

the property owner fails to do so within 15 days after receive of a notice, such costs
to be charged to the property owner and placed on tax bills, and that the Board en-
dorse said bill and request State Senator Strother Melton and State Representatives
Fred Liorgan and -harles Burnley to give their full support to secure its adoption

providing a franchise for garbage and rubbish collection now before the Board of
Commissioners be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Comm-

Bill -Flood Con- Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the board receive and file the o tter

authorize the creation of flood control districts with authority to levy a Lax rate
not to exceed 15� per 8100 valuation on all real property within the district for the
purpose of maintaining and operating flood control works, and that the Board endorse
said bill and request State Senator StroLhar ?:elton and State Representatives Charles
curnley and Fred :.:organ to give It their full support to secure its adoption by the

Nhereas the Kentucky Utilities uompany has submitted the attached draft of an
amended permit which adequately protects the interests of the amity of Paducah;
Now therefore I move that the board approve the attached permit form, subject
to final approval by the US District Engineer at Louisville, Kentucky. Adopted on
