HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 21, Page 507, October 25, 1949NO _507 Proceedings of liaard of Commisslonars City of Paducah October 25. 1949 ' At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the Commission Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.Y.. on October 25, 1949, Yayor Pro Tem Johnston presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Mayor Pro Tem Johnston (4). Ninutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read. St. Light Commissioner Abell offered motion that the interdepartmental memo from the Police Pill �, Kreurer Department and the City !.anger regarding a street light at the intersection of Hill and Krueger Streets be received and filed and that the City 1•:anager be direfted to arrange for the installation of a light at this location. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Payor Pro Tam Johnston (4). Fiscal Year Commissioner Abell offered motion that the Board receive and file the letter of July 1 ✓ Letter Mgr. October 12, 1949, from the City Manager in which he recommends that the fiscal year i • of the city be changed from the calendar year to a year beginning on July 1 of each year and ending on the following June 30. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Mayor Pro Tem Johnston (4). 28th Street % Commissioner Abell offered motion that the Board request the Kentucky State HiGhwa State Highwa,i resurface Department to complete the resurfacing of 28th Street between the beltline Highway and Park Avenue, as this is a connecting link between U.S.F.ighway 60 and the highways that will be routed along the Beltline. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Cocm!issioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Mayor Pro Tem Johnston (4). Close Alley Commissioner Allen offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file 27th 3t `o Beltliney the letter of T.A.Bradley, City Engineer, recommending that the alley extending from Highway 27th Street to the new Leltline Highway in the block south of the Hinkleville Road be closed, and that the Corporation Counsel be authorized to prepare for introduction at the next regular meeting an ordinance providing for the closing of said alley. it Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Mayor Pro Tom Johnston (4). Bond k Ins. Commissioner Allen offered motion that the Loard receive, file and approve the policy C I. H. Gregory tinder issued by the New Amsterdam Casualty Company in the name of I.H.Gregory and/or the Cdty of Paducah for a period of 30 days from October 21, 1949, together with the I'.
