Craig and Charles Rawlings, as members of the Board of Equalization ii for the year 1950, by Stuart Johnston, Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Paducah, be receive and filed. Shoup r Commissioner Abell offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file connect to sewer Edwin P. Ifawkin the letter of Mr. Earle T. Shoup regarding a permit to connect his private sewer .line onto the Edwin P. Hawkins line which connects with the city sewer at the east property line of the Hawkins property on the Buckner Lane Road at Fortieth Street; together with the letter of 1:.r. T. A. Bradley, the City Engineer, protesting against the grant- ing of such permit. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Mayor Pro Tem Johnston (4). Bills for 1950 Commissioner Abell offered motion that the letter of the City Manager in which he session of ✓ General Assembl recommends to the Board of Commissioners their approval of Bills prepared by him for introduction at the 1950 Session of the General Assembly be received and filed, and that the Board of Commissioners urge the State Representatives and State Senator from this district to use their influence to bring about the passage of these Eills which would (1) change the qualifications of candidates for elective offices under the City ":'onager Form of Government, (2) eliminate the present statutory requirement that each and every expenditure be published in the newspaper, and (3) reduce the expenses the city is required to pay for publication of ordinances. M Proceedings of = oard of Commissioners City of Paducah October 18, 1949 —I U^oth or: Mayor Pro Tom Johnston offered motion that the League of Nomen Voters be grantcd a sidewalk League of permit to place on the sidewalk at t',e northeast corner of 4th and Broadway a booth and ',!omen Voters use the same on October 20, 21 and 22, in its campaign to urge all rogiotorod voters to exercise their voting privilege at the election to be held on November 8, 1949, and that they also be permitted to sell at this booth a booklet entitled "What Kappens to Faduca¢�Is Tax Dollar" without being required to purchase a license. Rieke, doing business under the firm name of Paducah Bus Company, operates motor passenger busses in the City of Paducah, said amendment to provide that the office and garage of said company may be maintained in the 1800 block on North 8th Street which is a location outside the limits i of the City of Paducah for the remainder of said franchise period.
