At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the Commiasion Chamber at�
the City Fall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on October 4, 1949, N.ayor Pro Tem Johnston

,presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner
Abell, Allen, Fannin and Mayor.Pro Tem Johnston (4).

'!Cater Line' Commissioner Abell offered motion that the petition of Vaughn Lae Reed and others
Yarbrough lane
residing on and near the Yarbrough Lane outside the corporate limits of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, for authority to lay and construct viater mains alonr and under
said lane and streot for the purpose of providing water service for domestic purposes t
the residences and 'homes of petitioners, be received and filed and that the request in
said petition be granted in accordance with the terms set forth in said petition.
It is understood, however, that inranting the
g privileges sought in said petition, j
neither the City of Paducah nor tle Commissioners of Fhter Storks shall be obligated to
buy or maintain said pipe line to be constructed by petitioners, or any part thereof,
and no such obligation shall be obtained or be implied hereafter should the territory
i
to be served by the water mains to be laid under the authority herein requested be taken
Into or made a part of the City of Paducah.
It is further understood that the petitioners will subscribe for water service at thl
rates now or hereafter prescribed for water service to consumers outside the city limits
and subject in all respects to the rules and regulations of the City of Paducah or its
Commissioners of rater :':orks which may be now in force or hereinafter enacted.
Nothing in the granting of this petition shall obligate the City of Paducah or its
Comiiasioners of tater :7orks to guarantee water pressure or service, and said water
service rray be discontinued through said pipe line or any part thereof at any time
when in the judgment of the Commissioners of tie ter Works the furnishing of water to any
of the petitioners or their successors in ownership of the property owned by them may
interfere in any wise with the adequate supply and distribution of water inside the

liability insurance policy of the American Automobile Insurance Company, No. CL -128931
insuring the City of Paducah and the West Kentucky Coal Company on account of accident
occurring as a result of the exercise of the permits granted pursuant to the provision
of an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A PERMIT TO MAK
AN EXCAVATION IN THE EAST SIDE OF SECOND STREET BETXEEN TENNESZEE AND OHIO STREETS FOR
THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING SUITABLE E.EANS FOR THE UNLOADING OF COAL FROM RAILROAD CARS
INTC A CONVEYOR, AND TO EXTEND OVER AND ACROSS OHIO STREET BEZWEEI SECOND STREET AND T
RIVER A CONVEYOR FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF COAL INTO SAID COMPANY'S BINS; AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR PRO 110! AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE FOR THE CITY AN AGREEMENT GRANTING
SUCH PERMITS; AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO BE CONTAINED IN SAID AGREE-

The ';'est Kentucky Coal Company having complied with the provisionsof said
agreepent requiring the execution of said bond and the filing of said liability
insurance policy, I move that said company be authorized to proceed with the exercise

Water Co. j Commissioner Allen offered motion that the Financial Report of the Paducah
Report
August 1949 7;ater Works for the month of August, 1949, be received and filed. • Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and L.ayor Pro Tam Johnston (4).
St. Lights Commissioner Hannin offered the following motion: WHEREAS, the Board has been

4000 Lumen 1 advised that it has been general practice of the Kentucky Utilities Company to install
4,000 lumen street lights and that existing lights on 10th Street are of 4,000 lumen
capacity instead of 2,500 lumens as stated in the City Yanager's letter of September
23; and
NTIEREAS, the City Manager, based on the above new information, has recommended
that the 10 additional street lights to be installed on 10th Street by of 4,000 lumen
capcity each, costing a total of ,35 per year above the annual cost stated in his
letter of September 23;
Now, therefore, I move that the Kentucky Utilities Company be requested to
install 10 additional street lights on South 10th Street of 4,000 lumen capacity each
