At a Regular Nicetirg of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on April 26, 1", Yayor Prof
mem Johnston presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:I
Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Yayor Pro Tem Johnston (4).
Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read.
Water Conn. / Commissioner Abell offered motion that the petition of Lonnie Conner for
Minerva Pte.
permission to connect a three -fourth or one inch water pipe line to a privately owned water
pipe line of Loren M. Jones along Minerva Place to provide water service for domestic
purposes to one residence to be constructed on Lots 15 and 16 Block 2, Minerva Place
Addition, :be received and filed and that the authority sought in said petition be
granted subject to the limitations and conditions expressed therein.
Nothingcontained in the granting of this request shall be construed as a

guarantee of pressure of water service on the part of the City of Paducah or its
Commissioners of Water Works, and nothing in the granting of said requests shall now

or hereafter be construed as an obligation or agreement on the part of the City of
Paducah or its Commissioners of "tater Works to purchase or acquire said water line or

any part thereof or to maintain same; no such obligation shall arise should said

territory where said privately owned pipe line lies be annexed to or taken into the

Flcodwall J Commissioner Abell offered the following motion: WHEREAS, the Junior

Chamber of Commerce has proposed to hang a sign to encourage safety from the floodwall
next to Broadway, as shown on the attached plan; and
WHEREAS, instructions from the U. S. District Engineer require that the
city indicate whether there are any objections before final approval is given by that
office;
I therefore move that the Board of Commissioners offer no objection to the
hanging of this proposed sign according to the attached plan providing approval is given
by the U. Z. District -Engineer at Louisville, Kentucky. Adopted on call of the Roll

Petition to Mayor Pro Tem Johnston offered motion that the petition of L. B. Alexander,
close portion
of Ohio St. et al, property owners on Ohio Street, requesting that the Board of Commissioners
25th to 29th
adopt an ordinanco authorizing the closing of that portion of Ohio Street between
i, 25th and 29th streets which extends from the property owners line on each side of
said street a distance of 12 feet toward the middle of the street, be received

and filed and that the matter be referred to the City Manager for his recommendation.
