Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah November 30, 1948
At a Regular Sleeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners'
Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 30, 1948, Mayor
Pro Tem Johnston presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their
names: Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Mayor Pro Tom Johnston (4). Mayor
Peak being absent (1).
Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read.
St. Light ✓ Commissioner Abell offered motion that the inter -departmental memorandum from the
2235 Schmidt
Police Department and the City Manager regarding a street light in front of 2235 Schmi?t
(S. 28th)Street be received and filed, and that the City Manager be directed to arra ng

StLight Commissioner Hannin offered motionthat the inter departmental memo from the
Bridge &
Ashcroft Police Department and the City Manager regarding a street light at the intersection of
Bridge and Asheraft Streets be received and filed, and that the City Manager be direatad
' to arrange for the installation of a street light at this location. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and Mayor Pro Tem Johnston (4).
Approve Commissioner Hannin offered the following motion:

Paducah bus I move that the Board of Commissioners approve the employment of the firm of
Company
Heffner, Schildt & Company, Certified Public Accountants, 100 Vaughn building, Louisville
2, Kentucky, by the Paducah Bus Company, to make an audit of the company's records as
provided in Paragraph 2 of the contract of ?.`.arch 25th, 1948, and that Stuart Johnston,
the payor Pro Tem, be authorized to immediately transmit to said company a notice and
request which shall be in words and figures as follows, to -wit:

You are hereby notified that the City of Paducah, Kentucky, approves
the employment of Heffner, Schildt & Company, Certified Public Accountants,
whose address is 100 Vaughn Building, Louisville 2, Kentucky, to make an audit
of your company's records pursuant to the requirements of the notice given you
on October 28th, 1948, and the Second Supplemental Contract entered into
between the City of Paducah and Mary Deronda Rieke, doing business as the
Paducah Bus Conpany, on March 25, 1948, and the Third Supplemental Contract
entered into between the same parties on November 8th, 1948.
As required by the provisions of those contracts and pursuant
to the authority granted the Board of Commissioners under the aforesaid
contract of March 25th, 1948, which contained, among others, the provision
that "said Accountant shall make an audit of such other pertinent records as
may be required by the Board of Comm'dasionera in its effort to determine the
amount of rates for bus transportation which will be fiar and reasonable",
you are hereby requested to have said Accountants audit all records necessary

to make a "detail audit", as this term is applied by certified public accountant,
and to include in the audit report the following information shown in such
records, Be well as all other information normally included in a report based

(a) The book value of each and every unit of physical property
as of Cctober 29, 1947, and as of October 29, 1948.
(b) Tho gross amount of revenue received each month on each

show the gross arrount of revenue dorived from each routo separately by months.
