HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 21, Page 353, November 23, 1948NO_ 353 Proceedings of—Board of Commissioners City of Paducah November 23, 1948 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners' Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 23, 1948, Mayor Pro Tam Johnston presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Comminaioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and payor Pro Tom Johnston (4). Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as road. Auto License �" Commissioner Abell offered motion that the City Manager's letter of November taxes Mgr's letter 17th containing recommendations for amendment -of the ordinance providing for the payme t of license taxes for the privilege of operating motor vehicles upon the streets of the city of Paducah, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, Allen, Hannin and tSayor Pro mom Johnston (4). Bldg. Permit Conminsionor Allen offered motion that the board of Commissioners receive and file refund to Jack Ford the inter-departmontal memorandum of the City Treasurer dated November 16, 1948. He further moved that the said City Treasurer be directed to refund to Jack Ford the sum of $5.60 for building permit #6913, which permit has not been used. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, 4llon, Hannin and Mayor Pro Tem Johnston (4). Liability Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, file policy & bond Farrington „- and approve the binder for rublio liability policy and the bond issued by the Motors, Inc: Bituminous Casualty Corp. of Rock Island, Illinois, and the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York, protecting the City of Paduchh with respect to work done by Farrington Motors, Incorporated. Letter Paducah Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and Ecus Company, Auditor file the letter of the Paducah Sus Company dated November 22nd 1948, in which said company advises that it desires to employ the firm of Heffner, Schildt & Company, certified public accountants, 100 Vaughn Building, Louisville 2, Kentucky, to make an audit of the company's records as provided in Paragraph 2 of the contract of Yarch 25th, 1948, and in which said company also aska the City of Paducah to approve the employment of said auditors.
