At a Regular :.seting of the board of Commissioners held in the CommisaioneraI
Chamber at the City hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:50 P.M. on January 26, 1948,
L'ayor Protem Johnston presided in the absence of Mayor Peak, and upon call of the
Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Abell, Allen, Carlick
and Mayor irotem Johnston (4).
:Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read.

Freeland ✓ file the letter of Joseph S. Freeland, Chairman of the Public Affairs Committee, Local
i Paducah, Kentucky, Socialist Party, U.S.A. in which he recommends that no part of the
surplus of the 7later :'orks System be used for general city purposes until the waves
of Water '.'.orks employees are increased and the water service has been extended to
those parts of the city not nov, served. Adopted on call of the Roll, yeas,

2oard of Equal. Commissioner Allen offered motion that the letter of the +card of equalization
extension of tim
dated January 27, 1948, requesting an extension of time to ;larch let, 1948 be received
and filed, and that the extension be granted and the board c')ntinue with the work of
equalizing the assessments against real and personal property until that date.
